Guerrilla Painter Mighty Mite Jr Brush Washer

I found these so useful that I now own several of them to keep in my different boxes. This is a simple little brush washer that fits in most pochade boxes and French easels. The jar and lid are clearly very high quality plastic and the removable stainless steel screen is beautifully made. In my experience it is leak proof unless the rim of the jar gets some crud on it, so check the rim and the inside of the lid for goobers before closing it up.

I do not have an issue with the quality but rather the price. It is outrageous to charge close to $18 for a small chemical resistant jar like this. I thought for some reason it was shatterproof glass. It is made out of plastic. The metal washer insert is a nice feature. I guess this is a situation where you have to bite your lip and just buy it if you are an outside painter working with turpentine. Argh!

I bought this despite the price being ridiculously high. It was okay for a couple months and is now leaking.

Very nice size. But at times, I find that the contents leak, not all the time, but sometimes - perhaps due to temperature shifts. I close the lid tightly at home, but my car is at times hot, depending on the weather. This is when I noticed that the contents leak - perhaps the lid and the jar are made of different materials so they react differently to temperature, and thus creating leakages...if you could improve this, it would be great, as I think the size and design are prefect!!

This is very small and works fantastic. I mixed half coconut oil and have dish soap and was amazed how well it cleaned my brushes at the last couple face painting gigs I've done. I also use it at home when I'm painting with water-soluble oil pastels. Perfect when combined with the small Guerrilla Painter portable water wells (three stacking compartments). Together, the tiny washer and the small water wells are really enough to do a painting session or face paint event because the brushes are mostly clean before they hit the water. I love to take water based art materials with me when I travel and this will definitely be part of my travel kit.

This little brush washer has exceeded expectations! I love it! I had some concerns about it having a tight enough seal to carry turpentine/turpenoids, so I put a biobased paint thinner in it to try it out. I must say it has done well. No leaks! This is a handy little washer to have on hand. Fits perfectly in the pocket box. Would recommend to any Plein air painter, especially those using cigar box sizes and smaller.

I use it for plein air and in my portrait class. It doesn’t leak, and is great for travel.

Over many years I've tried various ideas for carrying a small quantity of solvent for plein air painting with a pochade box, most of which have either leaked or just added something else to carry. This little brush washer solves the problem. I use it with a Guerilla Cigar Box and it's small enough to fit inside and yet contains sufficient solvent to clean brushes for a few hours painting. Love it!

ok but far too expensive for what it is

I bought this portable brush washer to put in my paint box and found that the top doesn't seal well and the solvent seeps out, possibly worsened by the elevation changes with barometric pressure changes on my hikes. I solved it by replacing the plastic container and top with a similar size glass jar used for caviar / fish roe that has a tight-fitting metal top. The metal brush washer insert fit well into the new jar. I would have thought the item would be more robustly built with a better gasket seal.

Exacty what I needed for my field box. A bit pricey!
