BrotherDR200 Drum Unit - Retail Packaging

I wish that I had known that I have to get the toner cartridge separately. I didn't need this part at all. Still it's well made and for what it is the price is a steal.

The replacement Drum unit for my MFC 6550 printer-fax-scanner served me very well. It is worth the cost compared to many other printer drums. One word of caution: It saves the life of the drum if you take multiple copies of the original at one stretch rather than copying the same page repeatedly and often. The replacement of the drum is very easy.

The print quality was poor. I bought another and it was better but all must be old.

I recently purchased three (3) brother drum units. Each of the three was faulty, i.e., they did not work. When I contacted Brother International it was determined via the serial number sticker that these drum units (cost $98.00 each) were not genuine Brother Products as was alleged (No the ad didn't say "compatible" or "refurbished"). These were supposed to be NEW, GENUINE BROTHER DR200 DRUM UNITS. I went straight to Brother, purchased another and it worked perfectly. Even when you specify "Genuine Brother" on your order (as was purported in the ad) you cannot be sure of that through Amazon. I am extremely disappointed that Amazon would deal with counterfit products. I offered my bad units to Brother in their fight against trademark infringement. I thought I was saving 50% by going through Amazon......Remember two things you have often heard: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, and, Buyer beware. I spent over $300.00 on the counterfit units and another $200.00 on the good unit, countless hours on the phone,and I end up with one (good) $200.00 drum unit. That means I paid two and two-half times the retail price for my drum unit. What a deal. Thanks Amazon.

Made my Brother MFC 4650 print like brand new! You would never know my printer is close to 30 years old!

I bought this and the ad said it was new and in the box. Well, it was used and essentially worn out. It was in the manufacturer's box, however. It was taped in the internal foil bag and the cardboard packaging around it was partially torn. I figured that someone probably bought the wrong one, returned it, and I bought the returned item. No such luck. It works, but has poor print quality -- prints too light, drum is scratched so there is toner "fogging" on printed sheets, spotting, etc. I'm not one to send things back -- because I don't want to waste my time or endure the hassle. Instead, I just never use the seller again and I recommend that others not use them either. This company was supposedly highly/well-rated and I bought the drum around September 2010. Maybe they have gotten worse sine the earlier ratings. Good luck.

The drum is exactly what I needed to make my Brother MFC work properly again.

I bought this as a backup unit...that was well received and in good order...i tried with my machine and works just fine..Lucky for me that you had a few units left in your warehouse..thanks again for your support....
