I used to be content with the bright, electric red maraschino cherries from the grocery store, but not anymore! A local restaurant introduced me to the "fancy cherries" and it truly makes a difference. The flavor is a far more intense cherry, without the artificial-ness those other ones give. The thick syrup adds a great sweetness and cherry pop to the drink too.This is the 2nd batch of these from Traverse, after an issue with my order, Traverse stepped up and fixed the issue. I am greatly appreciative of their resolution and for their cherries.Once these get used up, I will buy them again...and again...and again. I plan to try some of their whiskey too as an accompaniment to the cherries.

They’re big. They taste great. They make a Manhattan into a Manhattan. They’re Michigan made. The syrup they’re packed in is also a treat

I had been trying a variety of cherries in my Manhattans. I liked Luxardo, but find them to be ridiculously expensive. These are, in my opinion, a bit better and a whole lot cheaper. I find Luxardo cherries to be a bit too soft...almost pasty in a way. These are a bit firmer, with a taste that is comparable.I won't be buying Luxardo again. These are a great addition to cocktails!

These are delicious cherries. We use the cherries as well as the syrup in various mixed drinks and occasionally my wife will add them to a fresh fruit salad for extra flavor and we get rave reviews from all.We ordered the 2 pack and one of the jars arrived leaking. I called the company direct and they immediately shipped out another jar. Great customer service all the way around!

I am a lifelong hater of maraschino cherries: I pick them out of fruit cocktail and tell sundae makers to leave them off the ice cream. These are delicious. The texture is nice and soft and the flavor doesn’t seem artificial, though some might find them a bit too sweet. They work well as a garnish in cocktails and in desserts. Traverse City knows its cherries. The high price does make these better as a gift than as a regular grocery purchase, alas.

Discovered these gems while visiting Traverse City and was happy to find them online. Great for Old Fashioned’s or just adding one to a glass of Bourbon. Slightly bigger and sweeter than the Luxardo cherries. These are now my go to cherries for cocktails.

If you're looking for a cheaper Luxardo substitute, this isn't it. It tastes and like cherry pie filling, and would probably work great for that! Too much sweetness and not enough richness/complexity/spice be a cocktail cherry.Pinensula cherries are much better as a cocktail cherry in this price range - they taste like Luxardo with cinnamon added. They are a passable substitute when you're using cheaper liquor anyway. But if you're using $50/bottle bourbon in your old fashioned, stop being cheap and buy Luxardos.

You simply cannot beat the flavor of there cherries in your Ole' Fashion!
