Cafesta major coffee spoon with tamper (japan import)

This is a well made product. It is sturdy and finished well. It's pretty. I use this with the Mr. Coffee Automatic Dual Shot Espresso/Cappuccino System, ECMP50, which comes with a plastic tamper/spoon that works well enough, I guess. The stock Mr Coffee tamper is 51mm, but I think that this 49mm tamper works better and will certainly last longer. It fits down into the portafilter where the stock tamper can't go. I get a tighter tamp with it. This tamper is also very convex, which gives a very concave tamp. I don't pretend to know whether this is better for the quality of the tamp, or not but, it works well with my espresso maker because it keeps the coffee a little farther away from the heating element. Two thumbs up.

I was looking for a stainless espresso tamper/measuring spoon combo, and this is exactly what I was looking for! Solid/good quality, looks nice. The only thing the tamper diameter is a bit smaller than my portafilter, so I have to slightly move it around in order to press all the grinds uniformly.

Good and solid. Great price. Took a while to get. Wish the stem was trimmer. Still, good deal.

The small scoop at one end and tamper at the other is awesome. Works great together.
