Book 5 is the BEST
I highly recommend that you start this series from the beginning. A lot will be lost in translation if you don't.In Book 5, Darklove, we get to see an emotional train wreck named Riley Poe. Her vampire fiance is presumed dead but then is discovered to possibly be trapped in an alternate realm. Her main mission, with Worldwide Unexplained Phenomena (WUP) partner Noah, takes them to Inverness. There is a rogue vampire that is indiscriminately killing humans out in the open that must be disposed of and fast.Unfortunately, Riley's head isn't in the game since the realm that Eli may be trapped in can be accessed not far from where she and Noah are hunkered down. Using some of her "gifts," she is able to escape the protection detail, namely Noah, and get to the realm to see for herself. Riley finds more than she's bargained for, making her stay in the realm a little longer and bit more challenging. What ensues is a battle to understand the whys of what transpired after her escape from the realm.Riley also discovers a link between the rogue and a vampire from her past that is not only disturbing but down right infuriating....for both Riley and the reader. To prevent any unwanted spoilers I'll leave my general rundown of Darklove at what you've read above in the the synopsis and my review.Let me just say that there is NEVER a dull moment in Darklove. Of the five installments, Book 5 is clearly my favorite since it's the only one to receive a 5 star rating. There isn't enough Riley/Eli time but that's the nature of this book. Noah is a fantastic character; strong and compassionate at the same time (which is unusual since vampires tend to lose most, if not all, of their humanity). The newbie characters, Rhine and his band of protectors, are a nice edition to the cast. Rhine, like Riley and Seth, has tendencies that help him and his group of friends keep the unruly paranormal creatures at bay.Darklove ties up most of the lose ends from the rest of the series; however, the author left wiggle room for, perhaps, a spinoff or two?? If not, I won't be left wondering since the author did an excellent job of answering all of the burning questions and taking care of the most important issues. The voice the novel is told in and the really quick reunion/acceptance at the end (you'll have to read it to find out what I mean) are the only detractions from the novel and they didn't bother me enough to warrant a reduction in rating. If you love (or even just like) the series, you'll love Darklove!!Paperback Review Copy Courtesy Of: My Bookshelf

Dark Ink
This is to review all four of the Dark Ink Chronicles as I have read all four and suggest reading the in order, not necessary but much more enjoyable. I believe I liked the first book the best when we met Riley Poe and Eli Dupre and all the other interesting characters. I loved the setting in South, the author made me feel like I was there.. It more than kept my attention, had to keep reading to see what happens to Riley since I loved the character. I can't believe the series is done but I'm sure Elle Jasper will do well with another paranormal series. Can't wait. I do wish the books were numbered in order when you buy them, it would make it easier,

Every book in the Series is better than the last. They're all 5 stars!
I love this series. I know the author isn't writing under this name anymore and has moved on the YA, but if she ever feels like picking up the PNR genre again, I would love to read Noah's story. I hope she writes it, if not, I will. LOL

yah gotta read this series
I don't really know what to tell all of you except it took me 2 days to read the series, the books aren't short so don't worry about that, almost 350/400 pages. the reason it took me so long to read was the, simple fact that I had to take breaks in between the pages and eat...you won't regret purchasing this series of books, too bad there are only 5 books in the seriesElle Jasper has moved into the nimber one spot for my favorite authors, move over christene feehan

Elle Jasper paranormal romance is a world above the others
What an amazing way to continue this series.....It had me in insomnia mode until I finished, especially the suspense of not knowing which way the author would twist this. I LOVE the depth of characters and how this book can be the end or a continuation if the author so desires. Sorry, no giveaways about the actual book, you'll most definitely pull an all-nighter once you begin to read and WON'T be disappointed!!

can I give more than five??
I somehow stumbled across this series awhile back and fell in love almost from page one. Every book that came I I read like my life depended on it. And this one was no exception. It was all that I knew it would be. I really hope it doesn't end here. I hope she branches off with other people. Either way this was a great book. And I loved it from start to finish.

Last Book in Series
After the last book, which was great but dark this was a wonderful read, tears and all, lots of those but well worth the read. For the ending book in a great series, I was not disappointed. My daughter has read the series also and was leary to read the last book, but she was happy and crying at the end. I even got a phone call and we actually talked about this book and the series,

You cant beat romance
I love a happy ending. Very well written pity it was the last book in the series I would have loved this series to go on and on. Loved the two main characters Riley and Elijas. Would certainly like to read more paranormal romance with this author.

Worth the wait
As always with Ms. Jasper's books I read this in one sitting because I just had to know what happened. Once I finished the book, I had to process how I felt about it before writing a review. So let me start by saying, I have loved this series from the beginning, but I wasn't keen on the direction the last book took. Adding the cast of characters from WUP and the whole fallen angel angle didn't really appeal to me, and of course the cliff-hanger ending was pure torture, especially knowing I'd be waiting a whole year to find out about Eli and Victorian. Because of this, I kept wavering between having high expectations for this installment and thinking I'd hate it. I'm pleased to say I was happy and maybe even relieved with Darklove.I was anticipating a long, drawn out journey in the otherworld where Riley had to rescue Eli and Vic from, but surprisingly it was just long enough to get a glimpse, then do what needed doing and get out. This was a positive thing in my opinion. Of course once back, Riley and Eli don't get to just ride off into the sunset to live happily ever after.....I don't want to give too much away, but I will say that all loose ends get tied up with this one, which is something I really liked. This felt like the end for Riley and Eli's story, although the door is certainly left opened for a spin-off, but this too may be a good thing. As great as I think Riley is, the fact that every other male character in this cast falls for her is a bit much, and while she has some unique abilities to bring to the fight, it seems ridiculous that she should become an unofficial leader to a bunch of supernaturals who have been around a lot longer than she has. I personally feel that this story brought Riley back to where and who she really is, and because of that it felt like, if this should be the end, it ended on a high note.In summary, a satisfying conclusion to a great story. I will be eagerly awaiting more from Ms. Jasper
