Heraldic Designs CD-ROM and Book (Dover Electronic Clip Art)

Very valuable resource.

Dover does printed and CD based clip art like no body else I know. I purchased this book/CD combo to do a project and then passed it along to a friend who does graphics for a living and he loved it. Easy to use and with lots of genuine heraldic designs, this one is a great value for anyone who finds themselves in need of quick path to great looking digital heraldry.

So I thought the images would be of printable quality from the disk and then found out it is 1980 technology. The images come out as blotchy and pixeled and fuzzy. Not worth the effort, not even for a dollar with free shipping.

This has been a handy book to have around if you are working on heraldry shields or images. Lots of detail.

the cd has small low res pictures

I can't believe how POOR the actual scans of the artwork are. The images on the printed page are of fine quality. The electronic version is nigh unto useless. I won't be buying from Dover again.

I have bought nearly all the 'heraldic' graphic books from Amazon. If you buy a number of them you will find that each book / cd has at least 1/4 if not more of the exact same graphics as the others do - or graphics so very close to being exact. I have them now; and will keep them - BUT feel; that I have more of copies of similar to exact graphics - because I have bought nearly all of the heraldic graphic books / cd's. I'd love to see new ones - with fresh and creative ideas.

Ok as an insight to family shields but not worth the cost.
