Did not work for me
I ordered a pair of Volt gloves for winter outdoor time in northern Michigan. Results were somewhat disappointing. First of all, using the information from the Volt web site, I ordered a medium. They turned out to be way too small. I could get my hands into the gloves but they were so snug that I think circulation, especially in the fingers, had to be restricted. I found that they worked best if I turned them on at least a half hour before going outside but even at that my fingers soon got cold (20 to 30 degrees F). Even with the gloves pre-warmed, my fingers began to get uncomfortably cold after 45 to 60 minutes. Full disclosure - my hands get cold very quickly in cold conditions. I was willing to try a larger size but it was not available on Amazon so I returned the gloves. I may try a larger pair next winter. The gloves seemed to be well made and ruggedly constructed. The batteries are pretty unusual containing the on/off/ heat level switch as well as heat level indicator LEDs. You won't find these batteries at your local battery store. So, bottom line - I can neither recommend nor not recommend these gloves until or unless I decide to try a pair that fit without compressing my fingers. For the balance of the winter I decided to use dry chemical hand warmers stuck placed in the palm of my (unheated) winter gloves and, as my fingers get uncomfortably cold, I pull them out of the glove fingers and wrap them around the chemical heat packs. The heat packs have a considerable time advantage over batteries. They last 6 hours +/- versus the glove battery packs that will only last for several hours.

8 years later and still works
I purchased these gloves in 2015 and used them every winter. I purchased an additional (2) batteries for them and all the batteries still work. The material for the gloves are tough and durable. Great reliable brand.

Hands stay warm like your inside
A bit bulky but that's to be expected when they include thermal wiring and batteries in a pouched wrist. Otherwise. they work great for me. I have Raynaud's disease, a wonderful leftover from when I had frostbite working in ice cold temps at Fisherman's Terminal in the 70's.My fingers turn purple (and hurt), then white and numb. I also now experience other problems as a result so these reasonably priced heated gloves saved me from Raynaud's aftermath. You can spend a lot more money to get the same protection like $250 at REI. Did quit a bit of research before purchasing my Volt gloves. The instructions say even when they are not in use. you need to charge the batteries so I will follow that advice. They kept my hands a very comfortable warm (like I was inside my house instead of outside), during the winter of 2015/2016. I only had to use the 1st setting as 2nd was too warm. If 2nd was too warm, I can imagine what setting 3 is like. A really cold winter will be the final test. Am happy with my purchase!

Buy directly from Volt Heat...
I bought a pair from Amazon and sent them back because one of the batteries wouldn't charge and neither of the batteries worked in the gloves. I really wanted a pair of these gloves, so I tried ordering them directly from the manufacturer (voltheat.com). The gloves from the manufacturer work perfectly. The batteries charge properly and work in the gloves just the way I expected them to. Interestingly, the gloves from voltheat came with yellow batteries, as shown on their website. The gloves from Amazon had black batteries. Knock-off's?

Excellent Gloves if only the batteries weren't so lousy...
Updated: One of the two batteries died after a few months and I have not been able to get a replacement for it. It was good while it lasted but now I am in the market for a replacement and it won't be a Volt!Original Review: This is a truly excellent product. Personally, I prefer the highest temperature setting. It is wonderful to walk around in freezing temperatures and yet stay warm. Without these heated gloves, my fingers always turn a ghostly white color after 5 or more minutes in such temperatures. I have been diagnosed with Raynaud's and these gloves are a tremendous help. They seem to be very high quality and I am very happy with them.

Inconsistent Performance
One glove/battery does not stay on consistently, regardless of the battery charge. Would be a great product if it weren't for this issue. Unfortunately, I didn't notice it earlier in the season (I didn't have to use the gloves in the warmer weather). Now it is too late to return them.

Sent back; measurement suggested a small would work, but based on reviews, ordered medium. These were too tight, so currently waiting for the large to arrive and hope they are not too big. Will update review after wearing on a cold day and fitted properly.

WHAT EVERY COLD HAND NEEDS!
REALLY, REALLY NICE! THEY DO FIT TIGHT (BETTER THAN BEING LOOSE). DEPENDING ON YOUR TEMP SETTING I HAVE GOTTEN UP TO SEVEN HOURS "COVERAGE"...MEANING, I FIND I NEED TO JUST TURN THEM OFF AT TIMES BECAUSE THE ARE SO WARM ABOVE 20'F. I WANT TO FIND AN OVER-COVER GLOVE TO PROTECT THESE BECAUSE THEY ARE SO, SO NICE.
