The Adventures of Hotsy Totsy

I am a fan of Clive Cussler and was surprised to see that he had written a children's book. So of course I had to read it. I was pleasantly surprised. He had all of the suspense of his adult books but at a child's level. The story line was easy to follow and very interesting. I would recommend this book to anybody with children or grandchildren. If they are able to read it themselves, I would let them. If not, I would read it to them. It could be read at one sitting but I think it would be better if done as a good night story. There isn't any monsters or real scary stuff in it. I now want to get his other children book, The Adventures of Vin Fiz. So get this book as soon as possible and enjoy a light hearted story for children that an adult can enjoy also.

The book arrived on time and in new condition. Even though, the book was written for a young person, I enjoyed reading it.

I've been reading the Adventures of Hotsy Totsy to my class as a read aloud. They think the story is exciting. I have kids asking everyday if we are going to read. The character names are a bit hokey - but the plot is action filled. The kids really liked The Adventures of Vin Fiz and I was able to link the story with pictures for a mini-geography lesson too. We are enjoying the sequel almost as much as the original.

I love the Clive Cussler books for adults and have all in my library. When I saw this book for children I jumped at the chance to initiate my grandchildren to the world of Clive Cussler and help get them more interested in reading rather than watching movies on their I-Pad's. I decided to read with them to get a feel for the book itself and also see and hear what they liked or didn't like about the book. I used my 7 year old, 10 year old and 12 year old grandchildren as subjects for this exercise. First, I found the book to be boring, with much too much detail (a positive for his adult books) that tended to bore all the children. In the end the book was set on a side table before the first chapter was completed, after a month it was sent to the dreaded bottom shelf of the book case never to been seen again.

Looking for a book to inspire young readers? The Adventures of Hotsy Totsy is a book to do just that. I bought this for my 8 year old grandson and read it to make sure it was age appropriate. It is well written at a young readers level and full of magic, imagination, and adventure. I enjoyed reading it I hope my grandson will too.

This is a great kids book. My husband loves the Clive Cussler books so we thought the kids books would be great too, and they did not disappoint. Our Grandson just loved it. We read it together and I thought it was fun and very adventurous.

A fabulous book at a super price, and a must for a youngster, delivery was excellent and on time and it’s super value for money
