First off, I don't like this product because it's made in China.To make the watertite seal on the 1/2" thread I found that if I do this it works really good.1. Wrap electrical tape 2-3 times around the outside of the black female threads of the flowmeter for support(it will crack without support).2. Wrap the male fitting with a minimun of 8 turns of teflon tape.3. On the male fitting with the teflon tape, use a light coat of pipe dope.4. Connect the two using only a wrench on the male fitting while holding the flowmeter in your other hand. When the connection is tight enough to slip through your hand DON'T tighten it any more or you will break the plastic female connector!!I broke 3 of these flowmeters before I found how to do it properly without a leak.I'm 66 years old and a Joureneyman tool & die maker and was really upset with the quality of the Chinese fittings.I hope this will save you a couple of bucks because you won't break you meters like I did.

This really feels like it is high quality & it is nice to have fine increments. The thread is 1/2 inch compression thread.It must be a different thread pitch than a standard 1/2 inch thread because with the standard thread there is a loose fit. With the compression 1/2 inch there is no play.

So... you want to know what your Gallon Per Minute (gpm) rate is coming out of your faucet. This is PERFECT! Such a simple design and great price.I searched all over town for something like this... all praise Amazon!
