Little Free Libraries & Tiny Sheds: 12 Miniature Structures You Can Build

chock full of projects and inspiration
This is a greatly needed book. I have applied many times to get a LFL in my neighborhood from their grant program, but never made the cut. Purchasing one from them is about $300 for a basic one (not including shipping) so that is not in my finances. I figure I can attempt to make one and there are some nice looking examples in the book. The story of how LFL came to be is very inspiring and the founder recently passed away. I will dedicate my LFL to my grandma who always used her bounty of fruits in her yard by making jam and sharing with her neighbors. I want to share my love of real books with mine. This book is filled with wonderfully inspiring color photos and detailed instructions. I do recommend it wholeheartedly.

Good resource for Little Library design.
When my husband and I decided we wanted to put a Little Free Library in our yard, I ordered this book to give us some ideas. My husband is a skilled woodworker, and seeing the various designs helped us to design and create our own library. There is also information about the Little Free Library movement and an appendix of additional resources. We put up our finished product at the beginning of 2020, just before the pandemic began. It turned out to be a wonderful resource for the children and adults in our community, and our neighbors often thank us and tell us how much they love it.

A "how-to" book that shows you how to build a Little Free Library - Full Color Photos
Having read the short story about the Little Free Library, I simply had to buy this book! Although I am NOT a carpenter, and this book is definitely written with the builder in mind, I found it very informative and a great gift to send to my brother-in-law, who IS a carpenter! He makes toys, 100s of toys yearly, that he gives away to people wherever he happens to be (which, often, is in a store somewhere). I hope to convince him to build a Little Free Library for me that I can put in the front yard of the retirement home where I live, near the entry door to the building--so our residents can put their books in it, and visitors can pick up a book from it. The concept is wonderful!

Beginner Here- Not for Beginners!
I love the designs, and I DO think this is a good book. As a beginner, it was a big challenge and I don’t think the instructions are geared toward the total beginner. That being said, I was able to do it. It’s taking a very long time, and it isn’t perfect. Ive had to change things and guess along the way, but I have a structure that looks like the picture. SO my recommendation is that if you’re a beginner and up for a challenge, go for it! If you have building experience, you’ll probably have no problems at all! I gave it a 4 because I felt some instructions were unclear or complicated, but that could just be because I was viewing it through the lens of someone that doesn’t fully understand building language. I don’t regret the purchase though, and I think it offers a great starting point for people that want to learn to build!

Excellent source book
Lots of inspiration. It turned out that a friend was building a larger one. He gave me his previous one and installed it for me. I live in a neighborhood with lots of pedestrians so I began having activity within a day or two. I plan to incorporate one of the lighting ideas and to add to the painted decorations.

Illustrations stimulate ones creativity
Amazing how individuals can take something so simple and turn it into a fun rewarding project. Great ideas for retirees, or for someone who wants to sell them for extra cash. No question what so ever that they will sell.
