Bike Basket
Well the basket is a really great idea. However, they say that the older you get the worse your balance gets. Me being a young 41 year old and out of shape and not on a bike in a long time makes for wobbling bike riding. Especially with the added handle bar weight of a dog. So part of the problem is my own balance issues. The steering is a bit difficult. I'm sure once we get on the open trail which is pretty straight we will do fine.Frisco is the passenger and he is a 10 lb. PomChi. He fits and can lay down in it but barely. He has only gone for short rides so far and wants to stand up and put his front paws on the edge like he does when he hangs out the car window with me holding onto him so he doesn't fall out. We go on car rides around the neighborhood just so he can feel the wind in his hair. Spoiled dog. So he tries to do this while riding in the basket.I didn't like how the straps are hooked in the front of the basket and cross over the opening and then hook to the handle bars at the back of the basket. It seemed to take up some space for Frisco and I was afraid he would get his little leg caught and hurt himself. So I went to the craft store and bought some black furniture thread and a needle and thimble and sewed the straps to run along the edge. It works like a charm. Also the straps how you adjust the length I didn't like how they were so close to the end of the strap so once I got my length, I sewed that too. It is still just a bit wobbly so I will get a piece of small rope and pull the two straps together to tighten the whole thing down and then it will be perfect. All bikes are different and mine is a mountain bike. Considering that and the fact that this basket is well made and it serves a good purpose I don't mind making these adjustments to fit the bike like I want it too. I don't think there is a product out there that will fit perfect on all bikes.I gave it 4 stars because so many people stated their 10lb dog fit great. It was a bit disappointing that he barely fits. And 4 stars due to the fact that it is not universal and I had to make adjustments to get it to work. I am satisfied with the basket don't get me wrong. This was the best one I could find out there. I would definitely purchase this again. I know it will bring me much joy to be able to go on long bike rides and have frisco with me. I live by a lot of bike trails and plan on going on all day outings and picnics with my sister and her chi as well. She will probably purchase this basket too at my recommendation.

We Love It!
Dixie and I love this little carrier! Evening rides are a real treat now. My 10 lb mini dachshund fits well into the basket, but be aware that this is for small dogs. Dixie is a bit longer than her weight would indicate so heavier dogs up to maybe 15 - 18 lbs would most likely fit OK, but that's max. The carrier goes on and off the bike in seconds...very easy. There is a built in short strap that clips to a collar or harness. (I would only use a harness to avoid choking in a fall or if the dog tries to jump out.) This is a great feature, although I think the strap could have been just a bit longer. When riding, it takes a little time to get used to the weight on the handle bars. It tends to make you cautious in turns, causing a wider turning radius than usual. Be careful at first. After a couple of rides, I scarcely notice the difference anymore. Others have mentioned the shifting issue and it is something I struggled with a little. The carrier is strapped at the top with two Velcro straps. At the bottom, however, there is no attachment to the bike. Instead, a formed wire 'standoff' presses against the upper fork. It works OK, but you do have to check to make sure it is properly positioned when starting out. The fact that the straps just look over the handlebars and that the bottom 'brace' is not rigidly attached means the whole carrier can and does shift one way or another. I didn't find this to be a major issue, especially with Dixie's added weight in the carrier. It would not be too difficult to add some bungee cords on each strap to provide more stability, but I didn't find this necessary. I bought this carrier because I need the exercise in the evenings, yet I don't want to leave Dixie alone after already being gone all day. We both love it...she really looks forward to the rides. And the "Oh isn't that cute" remarks we get almost every time we go out are fun too! I recommend this carrier.

Great basket
Wanted to be able to take my dog with me on bike rides. I don’t think I would feel comfortable going up or down hills using this with my dog in it but it was great for doing a flat bike loop to the beach/park. Riding one handed is a lot harder with your dog in the basket due to the weight not being balanced and it starting to tip to the handle I’m not holding on to just due to my dog’s weight. My dog is a 13 pounds pomchi and he fit fine and seemed totally comfortable inside. It was a bit of a struggle to get my dog in just because the straps that go on around the handles of my bike made me loose an inch on each side of the basket. It was a lot easier with my boyfriend helping me put him in while I was also holding the bike up straight. I think I would struggle doing this by myself. I think my dog’s size or a few pounds heavier is about as big of a dog as you could fit in.I thought of getting one of the backpack carriers for my dogs and tried it on, but I think those would only feel safe with a dog with short legs like a corgi or dachshund. So this was a far better option! The basket is great with all of it’s pockets - on the front and both sides. I put a little beach blanket at the bottom for my dog to sit on and then took it out once we got to the beach! This basket also made a great bike basket for just carrying things without my dog inside - tons of storage. I also didn’t have any issues with being able to ride one handed with less weight inside the basket too!

Meh
It's meh. It's kinda uncomfortalble. My dog sits there but looks at me so dissapointed with the tiny uncomfortable space he's just been given. I've only taken him biking with this for about 10 minutes. It's secure-ish but wobbly so I think it will hold but always worry that it's about to fall off. My dog is an easy-to-break toy breed so it makes me very nervous to have him on there. It also doesn't fold away very well so it takes up lots of space. The rain cover is a cool idea but we've had no reason to use it. I have a feeling my dog will panic with that thing around his head...

Better for a car seat, not a bike
It worked better for a car seat. We tried it on our bike but it's so loose. My poor dog just swing from side to side and there wasn't that much support with the bar holding it underneath. But the quality of the bag and rain cover worked well. We bought it for biking so it was a little disappointing.

Great purachse for small dogs!
Super easy and straightforward to install. Durable and stays in place while on the move. Straps (when tightened) and short leash provide great security so pup will not jump out. Lots of pocket space for keys, wallet, dog leash, and portable water dish. Water bottle holder on the other side is great! Easy to remove and use on long walks when the dog gets tired. Base is solid, put a blanket in there and it's pups favorite spot. Quite impressed with the quality. Very happy with this purchase.

Love this Pet Carrier!
I have a HavaMalt (Havanese/Maltese) and she fits perfectly in this carrier. She is approximately nine pounds. I put her in her harness, and attach it to the "lead" that is attached in the carrier. It doesn't allow them to move around much, which I like because the more she moves around the more you have to adjust the steering to compensate for the movement. I didn't find it difficult to steer with the additional weight on the front. It has convenient pockets which I use for for her leash, doggy bags, ball and even some treats. I can also fit my house keys and my cell phone. I use an average size water bottle and that fits perfectly too. It also has carrying handles which is great for walking around the farmers market (I'm afraid someone will step on her in the crowd). The mounting of the basket was easy, and comes on and off with a few simple steps. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.
