Works great! No mess & easy to clean!
I replaced my 20 year old previous small version of this grill with this newer model. This unit is lighter & the top part of the unit is not as heavy so it does not squeeze the meat as much. This newer model also has more of a hinged lid than my previous older model. This newer unit does not heat as fast & hot which is better. The older unit cooked too hot & too fast. I use my grill a little different than most people probably. I dislike cleaning grease splatter off my black glass stove top so I don't fry anything on my stove. I use this grill to cook most of the grease out of the burger patty & then I transfer the patty to a small fry pan to complete the cooking process. I start some thinly sliced onions in olive oil in a covered fry pan on the stove at the same time that I put the burger on the grilling machine. The onions are soft & cooked by the time that the grease has cooked out of the patty. I then coat each side of the patty with approximately a teaspoon of teriyaki sauce when I place the patty in the pan with the onions. I cover & cook the burger patty with the onions a few minutes longer (with no grease splatter), pile the onions on top of the patty, place a slice of cheese on top & place the patty between a bun that has both sides lightly buttered on the top & bottom, then brown the bun both sides in the pan & serve. This makes for a very flavorful & juicy burger if you don't mind cleaning another pan. I also cook some frozen fries in my air fryer at the same time so everything is ready at the same time. I have not found the grill surfaces difficult to clean. I place 2 folded dampened paper towels between the closed grill plates after I unplug it. The grill plates easily wipe clean after I have eaten my meal. I use 2 additional damp paper towels to finish cleaning the grill surfaces. I don't need to use soapy water at all to completely clean the grill surface. Very little greasy mess to clean up after eating. My kind of cooking! Not sure how they get away with calling this grill a 2 serving size grill. There is no way you will get 2 average size burger patties on this grill. The grill surface is only 7.5 inches wide & it states in the directions not to crowd the cooking surface. I guess you are supposed to eat 3 inch wide burgers! You might be able to fit 2 small slider size burger patties, but even that would be a tight squeeze. You might as well cut the serving size in half for any of these grills. I have a 4 serving size grill also & you can only fit 2 burger patties on that grill. Really poor marketing in that respect!!

It’s less than 20 dollars, people.
This is a small grill. I wouldn’t call it 2-serving, as other reviews have mentioned. I agree it’s more of a 1-serving grill.Look at the price you are paying for it.This is not a 5-star culinary restaurant quality George Foreman grill. This is a countertop appliance for less than 20 dollars. The heating is not perfectly even. It was less than 20 dollars. The cord is a bit short. It is less than 20 dollars. It does not have an on/off switch or timer. It was less than 20 dollars. The pieces do not come out to clean in the sink. IT WAS LESS THAN 20 DOLLARS. Slap a damp paper towel in it when you’re done cooking, it’s it’s easy enough to clean. If you want something that cooks like it’s pricey, buy something pricey.I’m a single mother of two toddlers, we live in a small house on a modest budget. This appliance is perfect for us. We can have grilled vegetables, grilled cheese sandwiches, and cheeseburgers very quickly and easily. If you’re a single person or only cooking for a couple people, if you’re on a tight budget, if you’re in a small space with limited room in the kitchen, this appliance is super handy, it’s small, it’s convenient.Don’t inflate your expectations, you’re buying this for less than 20 dollars, as I may have mentioned. For less than 20 dollars, this gets 5 stars all day from this single mom.

Idiot tested, idiot approved. Idiot also satiated.
I ordered this on a whim last night. It was delivered today (holy speedy delivery, batman!) so I got to test it out about an hour ago.Since I wasn't expecting it to come today, I wasn't really prepared. I had frozen chicken breasts but none were thawed.. I'm impatient so I just said "oh well" and decided to try it out anyway. I took a few minutes with a bowl of hot water to thaw one of the breasts, and though the inside was still pretty solid I put salt and pepper on it and threw it on the grill anyway, YOLO. The instructions recommend using a tenderizer to beat the chicken to an even thickness (thinness, actually) to help it cook properly, but "Danger" is my middle name so I didn't (also I don't exactly own a meat tenderizer).Set the timer for nine minutes (that's what the instructions suggest for chicken). When the timer was up, the chicken was still a little soft in the center so I left it on for another 2. Took it out and oh my gosh. This chicken was delicious, yall. Cooked all the way through but still very juicy and not at all dry. I was amazed, especially considered that I followed pretty much none of the recommended instructions and was kind of expecting it to taste like day old garbage. For cleanup, I just unplugged the machine as soon as the chicken was done and then used a wet paper towel to get off all the remaining grease. It came off effortlessly. This thing is a little powerhouse and I can tell I'm going to be using it a lot.The only flaw is that it's not very big. The piece of chicken I used was a pretty large breast, and there really wasn't room for much else in the grill. This is perfect for me as I live alone but if you're trying to cook for 2 people (or you eat a lot of portions, you bloodthirsty glutton), I would suggest upgrading to a larger model. For just one person grilling one large chicken/steak/burger (or two smaller pieces of meat), this will work fine.I'll definitely update this review in a few weeks once I've tried out other foods on it and have seen what it's fully capable of and what other flaws I might notice, but my immediate impression is that this thing is going to stay on my kitchen counter indefinitely!
