OXO Good Grips Silicone Sink Drain Strainer

The OXO Good Grips Silicone Sink Strainer is perfect for me. It moves a little to the side of the opening, but the sink drain opening remains completely covered and no food ever goes down the drain. It is the easiest strainer to clean. There is no need to pick out tiny pieces with my fingers or a paper towel. I previously tried a stainless steel strainer that did not work for me. The food pieces would not tap out and even a paper towel and a brush wouldn’t remove the tiny bits. The stainless steel strainer is very nice looking, but the cleaning process was impossible. I used so many paper towels. No paper towels are ever needed with the OXO. I know this all probably sounds weirdly enthusiastic, but I cannot describe the amount of work the OXO has saved me every day. I don’t have to tap it over and over to try to get the scraps out. I don’t have to tap it on the trash can at all. I just gently pull or push the piece in the middle, and everything goes straight down into the trash can. Perfect!!

This sink drainer-strainer is really super. I read about it on Wirecutter's site, where the reviewer raved about how great it was. I bought it, and the acclaim is real. This strainer is easy to use, easy to clean, and works really well. It is not a stopper, but it does keep food scraps from going down the drain while you clean your dishes. When you finish washing the dishes (or sometimes mid-way thru, depending on how much gunk is on your plates) you take the strainer and tip it upside down into the trash, maybe hitting it against the inside of the trash can for sticky stuff, or using the silicone handle to turn the strainer upside down and get anything left out. You put it back in the sink, and you're ready for more action.

I’ve had this OXO Good Grips Silicone Sink Strainer for over a year, and it’s still holding up perfectly. The silicone basket forms a nice seal around the drain, catches food scraps really well, and the water still drains smoothly without backing up. It’s super easy to remove and clean — just flip the silicone part inside out and everything comes right out. I also love that it’s dishwasher safe and doesn’t scratch the sink. The stainless steel rim still looks shiny and new, and nothing has loosened or rusted. This is one of those small kitchen tools that just works exactly how it should. I've been using the OXO Good Grips Silicone Sink Strainer for several months now, and overall, it's a solid addition to my kitchen. The silicone material is both sturdy and flexible, making it easy to fit into different sink sizes. Its black color gives it a sleek appearance that blends well with my kitchen decor .​ The strainer effectively catches food particles, including small bits like rice, preventing them from clogging the drain. Cleaning is straightforward, however bits and pieces can get stuck in the silicon so it may take some time to get it out.

Excellent product. Works well, looks good, overall great value. No assembly work required. Used it to replace a horrible drain strainer in a rental apartment. Now I can be happy every time I use the kitchen sink.

This sink drain strainer is the best I have had so far. It catches everything and has a good seal on the drain. It’s easy to pick up out of the sink, because of the middle column, and that column makes the strainer easier to clean: just push it to turn the strainer inside out and dump whatever is there into the trash or compost. It is easily cleaned, and can go in the dishwasher for a more thorough washing. I found that the silicone drain is better at not holding odors: metal mesh drains were harder to clean and got stinky even after rinsing. The best part is that this strainer does not come apart easily. It is well made, works well, and the materials never shred, come apart, or have tiny metal wires sticking up that poke your hands. I can’t tell you how many times I got stabbed by cheap wire strainers when I was picking them up or cleaning them. OXO is a good brand, and this Good Grips silicone strainer is a great addition to their inventory.

These are my favorite sink strainers. I have bought a couple. They are easy to get food out into the garbage and very easy to clean so there is not any mold.

Working very well, as it was intended to. Captures everything and it's easy to clean. Good materials. Happy with it so far.
