So, I was walking in the mall one day a few years ago, and got stopped by a nice man who wanted to style my hair. I had some free time, so I allowed him to. He used this exact product, Herstyler Classic Forever Ceramic Flat Iron. I had never used anything on my hair, other than a curling iron once and a while. I am not a fan of curling irons or flat irons because the right look has always been hard for me to achieve. I can never make all the hair appear like a professional styled it or that natural effortless look. Plus I did not want to take a chance and damage my hair. So I was a skeptic. After a few curls he created, I was hooked! I did not want to buy this product at the mall because it was retailing for $200 at that time. I found it on Amazon for about $40 at the time. I bought it and have been using it ever since. It is easy to hold, does not get heavy. Has easy temperature adjustment. I did drop it a few times and a small corner piece of the ceramic broke off. I still use it and it works great. Also, I was putting Moroccan oil in my hair then using the Herstyler. I noticed that combination was damaging my hair and staining the ceramic plate. It gave the plate a rusty burnt color. I stopped using the oil and my hair has been damage free since. Keeping the iron on a medium temperature setting also helps prevent damage. The higher the temperature the faster your hair sets, but could cause damage. Do not redo a piece of hair several times. One time should be enough on the piece of hair you are styling. You can touch it up briefly a second time, but I do not recommend more than that. I only use the Herstyler to create waves and curls, not to straighten my hair. I do not know how it would work to straighten. I finally recently broke down and bought a new one. It was even cheaper this time around on Amazon! It's light enough and small enough to travel with. I still have my old one as a back up and travel one. I do not know how other Flat Irons rate, but this one is great so I do not feel the need to look for a different one.

The only straight iron I have used for the past 15 years. It last forever until I drop it or do something stupid. I cant live with out it!

I got this flat iron because it was dual voltage and I needed something for a trip to Ireland. It worked very well and eliminated the need for a converter (however an adapter is required as European outlets are configured differently). It will get very hot so be careful how high you set the wand. In that regard, I have one negative to note. The dial to set the temperature is in between the prongs and is hard to adjust as the prongs open only so wide. Also, there are no temperatures noted, just a graduated arc, so you kind of guess as to how high to set the iron. Otherwise, I'm pleased with the performance.

I own a professional flat iron that cost over $200 that I have used for years and I love it. I have very long, thick hair, so I need atleast 450 degrees to easily style my hair. I'm traveling to Europe and needed a dual voltage flat iron. It was very challenging to find a flat iron that got hot enough. This one fit the bill. It works great and gets hot enough. It does have a slight drag or pull on my hair, then again as mentioned, my hair is very long. For vacation, it will work great and you can't beat the price.

I have used several different straighteners some the most affordable to the more pricier ones. When I originally purchased my HerStyler at the mall for a whopping $200.00 I was a little upset that I had spent so much for a straightener but from the first time I used it I was sold! No other straighter could compete with it in my book. I was super sad when my straightener broke after 5+ years of putting this baby to work. I knew I wanted the same straightener but I wasn't sure I wanted to dish out that kind of cash for it again. This lead me to search elsewhere for it and alas Amazon.com came to my rescue! I found the sellers California Distributors had the same brand and style flat iron for a STEAL OF A DEAL $25!! I purchased the flat iron on Monday September 15th and it stated I should receive it by the end of the week which was pretty fast if you ask me, I was super stoked! Early the next morning I was checking my emails to track my package and It stated that my flat iron had already been delivered. I thought to myself this must be a mistake I just submitted my order yesterday! I really believed I would never see those $25 or the flat iron again. As I open my front door much to my surprise there was my package waiting for me!! I was jumping for joy and ecstatic that I had received my flat iron in LESS THAN 24 HOURS! That's the quickest EVER that I have received anything that I ordered online. The flat iron works exactly like the $200 one i purchased 5+ years ago and the icing on the cake is that I got it for $25 (including taxes/shipping). I am so happy with this purchase and will definitely be recommending CALIFORNIAN DISTRIBUTIOR and this flat iron to my friends and family!. Thanks bunches! xoxo!

I purchased this tool for travel to Europe because it is dual voltage (the straightener I use at home is single voltage and I didn’t want to have to use a power converter in addition to the necessary plug adapter). However, this tool has a few problems for me that prompt this review. First, the temperature control is a small knob located between the “arms”, with temp markings for a low of 180 and high of 460 degrees, but it’s difficult to tell what temperature you are setting as the indicator is extremely small and there are no number markings between those high and low numbers, and the indicator on the knob is very small. So…I dialed to what looked close to my usual 400 degree setting, did not get the heat needed, turned the dial until it stopped, presumably at 460. I was afraid I would burn my hair at that temp but it did not get super hot. For the price, it’s probably worth keeping but it is just okay.
