Talley Tikka T3 and Tikka Master Scope Mount

Low vs Medium 40mm scope.
I bought two sets of these mounts low & medium.I have a leupold 4.5x14x40mm on a Tikka rifle. On both low and medium I have plenty of clearance with the 40mm Scope.ADVICE - I wanted the scope to be as low as possible.... but the low mounts were too low in my opinion I couldn’t get a good view through my scope. With the mediums again plenty of clearance, and the scope found my eye a lot better.

Taller than 'low', IMHO, but otherwise, awesome.
I mounted a Bushnell 6500 2.5-16x42 with these on a Tikka T3. This is my 5th or 6th set of Talleys on different rifles over the years, and like all the others, these fit unbelievably well. The manufacturing tolerances are bang on perfect. Why do I only give these 4 stars then? These are nowhere near what I would call "low". I am 99.9% sure these are high enough to mount a 50mm or larger scope with; there is a LOT of air between the scope and the barrel with the 42mm scope. In my mind a 'low' ring should be too low to mount a 50mm scope on (even a 44mm should be a really tight fit on a 'low' ring). These are way way higher than that, and Talley makes it ridiculously hard to find specs on what size scope these are appropriate for (they used to publish a wonderful chart, but they have taken that down and I can't find it anymore). Anyway, I should have bought the Extra-Low version. All that said though, these will do plenty good enough to prevent me from spending the time and shipping money to have them swapped for extra-lows. Having my scope higher than is absolutely necessary, while not my preference, is not that big a deal either.Talley rings are 5+ stars. But if you are putting a sub-50mm scope on your rifle, get the extra-low 30mm rings, these are taller than what you think of as 'low' if you are used to the 1 inch scope world.

Solid mounts for the money.
I love how easy these are to mount for my Tikka T3X Superlite, they go on in the mounting holes perfectly and very easy to adjust. I purchased the low option, and my scope fits just right with scope covers on. My scope is 4x16x44, and adjusting for eye relief still leaves plenty of room. I used a bit of removable loktite when mounting. These work better than higher dollars options I contemplated. You won't be disappointed.

Top shelf, can't go wrong. Might as well have the best.
Light, sturdy, well made. A little pricier than other options, but if you want to open a package, turn a few screws, and expect everything to fit without having to monkey around with something, buy these. Your scope won't slide in the rings under recoil (I have one pair of these on a 338 Win Mag) and they just seem to work. If you want good rings, buy these!

Great as always
These are just as great as all the other Talley rings I have on several of my rifles. Rock solid, and easier to instal. I have these on some heavy recoiling rifles (300WM, 7mm RM and 270WSM) and none of them have budged after many rounds..The latest for my tikka was to mount an Athlon Argos BTR 6-24 x 50 and the medium works well. Never have I had to lap or shim any of my Talley rings, but then again I'm not shooting 1000+ yards.

hight cleaars my leuopld 50MM scope fine
my leupold 50mm has a larger front end than any of my other 50mm scopes, but medium height rings works fine

Best rings on the market
I have gone almost exclusively to Talley rings on my rifles. The more parts and screws involved in your setup, the more opportunity for something to come lose and go wrong. I love that these are custom made to a specific rifle model and eliminate the needs for separate rings and bases. A little leveling and Loctite blue and you are good to go. I have been using Talley for many years and have yet to have a bad set or problem.Full disclosure, I do lap my ring to ensure maximum ring/scope contact. But I believe that should be done with all rings, regardless of manufacture.

reasonably strong and easy (half the parts) compared to most mounts
The medium height fit a 50mm objective Leupold scope perfectly with an eighth of an inch between the bell and the barrel of the Tikka. Lightweight, reasonably strong and easy (half the parts) compared to most mounts. You might choose a heavier steel mount if you put a heavy scope on a hard recoiling gun. Otherwise Talley single piece would be my first choice for a scope mount.
