** UPDATE **I contacted Stelton, and they sent out a replacement unit free of charge. I've been using it everyday and it works perfectly.** Original **The rubber seal is defective and leaks liquid into the thermos area when filling, or washing. I discovered this 8 days after Amazon return policy had expired. This could be a one-off defect, or a problem with the entire product line. Its hard to tell from a single experience.If it wasn't for this issue I would give the Cylinda Press 5 stars, but when you pay a lot for an item, you don't expect it to fail in such a simple fashion. I'm trying to contact Stelton directly about a replacement.Let's see if the extra money I paid over and above other coffee press options will be repaid with decent customer service. I'll give them the benefit of doubt until then.

Beautiful piece and work well on insulating. Our first one broke at the top and cannot be repaired. We bought another one.... Not the greatest solution since it is pretty expensive.

I wanted a large cafetiere. The product description states 8 Cups which is about 1.8 L. I received a 1 L cafetiere. Not sure whether I got the wrong item or whether the description is inaccurate. Nice item but too small for my needs and falsely advertised.

I've now had this for nearly 4 years, here are my thoughts on it:It's beautiful, pretty well made & makes good coffee.However, I've never been pleased with the fact that it does not appear to be vacuum insulated & does not keep drinks warm for anywhere near as long as vacuum insulated drinks containers that I have.With mine, the inner & outer parts of the metal body appear to be sealed merely with a little silicone. Very like, if not the same as, the stuff used to join sheets of glass together to make a fish tank.Which is fine & is hidden from view most of the time, but for £120 I'd like it to be vacuum insulated & carefully welded together.My other criticism is that the inside of the lid is very plasticky & quite thin.Again, this reduces the insulating properties of the coffee maker & also, I don't want my hot coffee coming into contact with plastic - is the plastic BPA free? Even if it is, I just don't like plastic & my hot drinks mixing at all thank you very much.

Makes superb coffee and keeps it at just the right temperature. Gives enormous visual and aesthetic pleasure each time one uses it.
