Love, Honor, and Betray

I love to read a book and then look at the reviews! I see many reviews saying "same ol same ol" and that they're tired of Curtis Black novels. Well my reply to them is that if you tired of the same ol Curtis Black novels, then simply don't read her novels about Curtis Black. I also see reviews stating that the saga needs to end and that it is like a soap opera! And that's the thing that I love most about it! It is like a soap opera. Every day my mom watches "Young and the Restless" and every time Kimberla releases a Curtis Black book, that's what I read! This book was GREAT! Had some twists and turns that you weren't expecting! I'm EXCITED that this book is obviously leading to another installment of this Curtis Black soap opera! I purchased the kindle version of this book on a Monday and finished on a Wednesday! I love all of Kimberla's books and have now gotten to the point where I don't even read the summar on the back anymore becaus I have NEVER been disappointed!

Our book club (We Be Book'N) read this book and rated it a 5! We have read all of Kimberla Lawson Roby's, "The Reverend Curtis Black" series, and have enjoyed each and everyone! This family has been through hell and high water, and still going through! The Reverend Curtis Black has not been a reverend that we should all look up to in Ms. Roby's series, but in this novel " Love, Honor, and Betray" the Dear Reverend is the good guy here. He has been tempted (really tempted by a certain someone) a number of times, and has proven that he is, by the grace of God, the reverend he should be. Although, he is not so forgiving of his third wife Charlotte! Charlotte was a good wife for a short period of time, but has thrown that all to the wind, when Curtis dead mistress' daughter comes to live with them! Charlotte has a teenage son by Curtis (which she conceived while Curtis was married to someone else), and had a daughter that she claimed was his, but died, and is now having to take care of someone else's child. Charlotte is not having it!! Since things are very tense around their home, Charlotte goes out clubbing alone, and picks up someone, which she will regret with all her heart. Then, she starts hooking up with an old beau from Facebook!! It goes on from there with nothing but drama, and more drama!All in all Curtis is getting pay back for all the dirt he has done with other women. But, will this break up their happy home, that Curtis & Charlotte have had for so many years, or will what Charlotte has done, and is doing, end it all for good?It's a story that will keep you turning pages as fast as you can, to see what happens next. Ms. Roby has done an excellent job on this last series of "The Reverend Curtis Black", and I am looking forward to ANYTHING she writes in the future!!Claudia from: We Be Book'n Book Club

I got to meet Mrs Roby and get this book in Jan.11. In one word "Awesome"!! Love,Honor and Betray, is dealing with problems that are real. Things you don't know are hear about, doesnt mean it not happening. I Love the way Kimberla deals with real life in a good story line(Fiction). Rev Black is only reaping what he has sowed over the years in his marriage. However,Two wrongs don't make a right! I had no idea how this one was going to end. I Love it! The Rev.Curtis Black series has been very good. Action Pack,Entertaining,Emotional,and Real. Real life problems are being dealt with in this series. I know the books are fiction, but alot of people can relate! Keep it coming, your are a Awesome Autor!! Thanks Again Mrs Roby

This one was tough. I was cringing at the way Charlotte was treating Curtina. I just was over the least little thing that goes wrong, I’m hopping in bed w/someone else. Like I’ve said in other reviews, I know the end of the story. I thought that was bad but now I think it helped.

Wow,Kim, Has done it again !!! Another great story and an awesome Read!! Love, Honor, and Betray was it in three words.Curtis has finally learned to Honor marriage, while Charlotte learns a lesson on Love and Betrayal. Do we have a new Curtis, a redeemable one?Yes, thru it all I did feel sorry of Charlotte in the end. What a lesson learned,but is it to late?Inquirying minds want to know .Thanks, Kim, for another awesome story, well done..

I thoroughly enjoyed this book!! I have read ALL of Kimberla Lawson Roby's books and each is just as intriguing and interesting as the other. She has a wonderful, easy writing style like no other author I know of. Her books are so relaxing and fun to read! Thank you so much for making my time on the Elliptical machine and treadmill so easy to pass away while working out!!! The way you ended this book, is a great opener to start another sequel (hint-hint) LOL!!!! Please keep on writing and I will keep on buying and reading!

What another great story & lesson. Charlotte, Charlotte, Charlotte (character) what in the world are we going to do with you baby-girl? I am so done with her lies and deceitfulness, I could just scream. It's always too little, too late when she realizes & acknowledges her wrong doings. But, I guess she's the reason we keep coming back for more. Great read.Thanks again Kimberla, you've out done yourself once again. On to the next saga in this series ~ I can't wait to see what happens in Novel #9, "The Reverend's Wife".Happy Reading.LNichols

One of my guilty pleasure books... the Curtis Black series! Even though it is fiction I think there is alot of truth to what is written. It must be semi-fictional!! I am always enthralled with the story of the Black family/frenemies & enemies. A definite must read!
