Ratchet Inside & Out (3.5 stars)
Had this been my first Tracy Brown read, I PROBABLY wouldn't have given her another shot without confirmation that her writing has gotten better. There's a lot of telling instead of showing, grammar issues dealing with typos and not separating dialogue, and I could live without the street aspect of it. Outside of that, it's an interesting read. The only character I tend to have liked was Nina, but I felt like I hardly knew her. I enjoyed the ending and all, and I will definitely read the next installment, "Twisted," since I know Tracy's writing only gets better from here. The ratchet cover definitely fits the ratchetness of the story.

drama filled women
dime peice was filled with a bunch of women that had nothing but hate for each other. the storyline went in so many directions that i was wondering what was the point to the story again? the first book i read by Tracy was white lines and i swear it was one of the best books i've read dealing with street life. i understand dime piece was in the begining so i'm hoping that twisted will bring it. Celeste, Charley and Robin are the prime exmaple of what men say women act like towards one another. although i know jealousy does exsist and beauty shops can be a great place to go for the latest dish these women went overboard all lustng after Ishmel. Celeste chose to be the mistress to rah-lo and had the best what could Ishmel offer her besides sleeping around on her without any regard. i started twisted today and i'm on page 70 something and the drama is slow coming but i'm going to hang in there to see where it goes.

There were a few really good moments and the hair salon was the spot
This was an alright read. However, it sort of fizzeled at the end. There were a few really good moments and the hair salon was the spot. I can't believe how Charly went off the deep end after professing to have herself so together.Robin got just what she asked for. Nina got her man. Celeste was a side chick who definitely knew her place. It wasn't right, it was what it was. I admired the stand she took and stuck by it. Ishmael is the man. I really liked Rah-lo. He had a honest regard for his children a n Celeste. There wasn't a lit of different women or drama. I felt bad for him.Definitely recommended.

Drama, Drama, and more Drama!!!
This book was full of drama! All of the women in this book was a hot mess and Ishmael didn't make it any better... Of course I'm moving on to the next book and I hope it's just as good as this one! Let's see how much MORE trouble the characters can get in to!
