Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  We purchased this for a trip & I just got it out of the box & fully charged it to give it a quick test run. Picture quality looks great, sound is great. Very reasonable price. We shall see how it holds up to a 10 hr car ride. I recommend reading the instruction manual. I couldn't figure out how to turn the volume up or down until reading that you have to do a long hold on the volume, otherwise it just "rewinds" the dvd a few seconds.

UPDATE: I ordered 2 Dr. J 9.5 DVD players. (1 black & 1 blue.) They have different reviews on Amazon, so I didn't know if they were different models. I believe they are duplicate models, just different colors. The DVD players both work fine, as well as the remotes. I'm hoping they last longer than the last set of car DVD players I had. The DVD players come with the headrest holders too! All you do is review the product within 72 hours & they ship them to you. I recieved mine within 2 days of my review. What a great deal!

What I liked about this Portable DVD player was size, lock in place for DVD, easy to operate, accessories included, and a really good price. What I would have like to have seen was a harder material. It is fairly lightweight which makes me nervous a little about it getting broken, but it is for me. I'm 58 years old, so unless I do something stupid or accidental, I should be fine. Trying to set the Quality Adjustment is ??? I haven't read the directions good enough to blame it on the DVD player. I need to read the DVD player directions again. I was distracted by my Parrot ? She likes all of my attention. It played well though. Sound was loud enough and the price was right. So far so good. I hope to keep it for a long time. Others I saw were so expensive and didn't have a very good rating. This was the best, and surprisingly the cheapest, so I thought I did well getting it. 5 Stars and Counting. The company is a small business, so I would encourage supporting it if possible and sounds to me like they really are willing to work to keep your support. Did ask that if any problems arose to please give them a chance. So I would, they seem very sincere.

I received my DR.J portable DVD player today. I let it charge fully until the green light was on. I then went through the setup process easily and quickly. I played a DVD from beginning to end with no problems. I then tried more DVD’S to made sure it worked. I came across a few DVD’S that would not play. Not sure why as they were marked region 1 just like the other ones. Thinking they were knockoffs. My fault and has nothing to do with this DVD player. We have an upcoming vacation and need to keep my son occupied for the 15 hour road trip one way. The last one we had didn’t last and husband has rigged it to get us through the years. I was grateful for the great reviews! My son chose the blue one. He is excited to use this for our vacation. This DVD player was also very affordable and has great quality!

Why are the ratings so high? They offer consumers a $10 Amazon coupon for a 4-5 star rating!The instruction booklet diagrams the remote control function buttons, but only verbally describes the player’s “click through” menu buttons. It’s pretty annoying. Also there is NO STOP BUTTON on the actual player (it’s only on the remote). You also CAN’T adjust the volume while a movie is playing without pausing the movie and going back to the root menu unless you use the remote. Really frustrating.While I don’t expect too much quality at this price range, the blue plastic dvd door and open/close button are pretty cheap and looks like they will break very easily. Will most likely return.If you have children, I can’t imagine this holding up well. And it’s pretty laughable that having it on your lap in a car would require you to bring the remote control for ease of use (since the dvd player’s actual buttons are so limiting and difficult to use).

Purchased in August 2019 and the remote stopped working about 2 months later and the play button sticks. It has completely quit working now. Lasted a good while for price but looking at another brand to replace it.Update!!! The seller reached out to me and offered to send a replacement or refund. I opted for the replacement. I was surprised to hear from them. Five star customer service.

Love, love, love this DVD player. It keeps my kiddos entertained when I need to get things done and my son absolutely loves being up close with one of his faves. There are so many options I haven't even explored yet but what we've used it for so far has been great. Picture quality is great, sound is great. I love that it can swivel around to discourage him from pushing buttons at least partially. Overall so pleased with this purchase, we're going to get so much use out of it.

It only worked for a little while now it won't load the video disc. Waste of money
