Ignition coil for a 5 hsp tecumseh motor
I was working on a friend's ariens tiller with a Tecumseh 5hsp motor that had no spark at the sparkplug. I replaced the points and condenser but still no spark. I ordered a ignition coil from Amazon and after it arrived I installed it and the motor started on the first pull. I was very pleased with the price of the coil and also the fast delivery time. Thanks Amazon for another satisfied customer.

Perfect fit
Worked great on an older model garden tiller

Works as expected.
The coil was as described and it was a good value. The 2 small wires were in a different location from the original, but the coil still works.

The coil didn’t work
This coil is the second one I purchased in the past 2 months. Neither would test positive on my two ohm meters. I also installed each one on my 4hp Tecumseh engine and neither would produce a spark.Check my orders, I also purchased a condenser and points, the condenser tested ok.I also purchased 2 Nova ignition modules and no spark was produced by either of the modules.I plan to keep the modules, but we will return both of the ignition coils.I have rebuilt several gas motors and numerous scooters and mini bikes for my children and grandchildren, I have a BS in physics and have rebuilt several VWs, and love to see these things work.Check your coil supplier and get some good coils or quit selling these junk ones.
