I may be prejudiced in that Mark placed me at a San Francisco startup during the dot-com bubble, He left a lasting impression on me in that he got to the core of my personality and the reasons for my success in business during the phone and in person interview. With humor and a complete understanding of the corporate world and individual foibles. That knowledge and humor come out clearly in his, hopefully first, book. I can only compare him to Scott Adams for a pithy, insightful look into the corporate world and headhunting. Toss in a "Calvin and Hobbes" joyful view of the world and it is a thoroughly enjoyable and educational read.

The world of executive recruitment written by one of the masters of the game.
I knew Mark was clever and creative but I had no idea he could write ! Let me give it to you straight is a “behind the curtains” look at what really happens in the world of corporate recruitment and is packed with one of a kind advice for job seekers that only Mark Jaffe can provide. The best part though is this book is a really great read. It is funny, never boring, and packed with amusing stories.

AWESOME BOOK
A beautiful book written by a beautiful man who unfortunately is not with us any more. His daughter is a dear friend of mine. This book is exceptionally helpful in understanding the job market.

Best book of its kind
I work in the executive search sector myself, Mark knows this business inside out and writes with accuracy, fluency and style. In fact I would like to see him write more business books, his sense of humor made me laugh on a number of occasions and his insights were thought provoking

To quote Mark "Although four out of five users report that reading my essays is more satisfying than actually being with me, there is no scientific evidence that anything I write has demonstrable value." A good read, that I should have read 10 years ago.

all the elements....
A very honest look at the world behind the curtain. I think the combo of advice, perspective, and psychology. Very fun to read as well.

Trite advice
Repetitive snippets of worthless, trite advice. Not humorous and certainly not helpful for changing jobs.
