Blocks the curious neighbors, I love it!
I live across from a park and sometimes have a lack of privacy when I open my blinds to get some afternoon sun. I cut these down to size and installed them on my living room windows and they look great! There’s enough leeway to choose exactly where I wanted the opacity to fade to clear and it worked out perfect. The whole bottom section of the windows are mostly opaque and just starting to get clearer towards the middle, and the top panes are semi-opaque fading to clear near the top. I’ve been admiring them all day! I can see the trees and sky when hanging out and not the partiers across the street, and hopefully vice versa! They can be tedious to install but the results are well worth it. I’m thinking they might even add a tiny bit of sound insulation as well.

This works well but be CAREFUL how you install it. What worked for me...
This film has a very nice gradient and it looks good when installed, increasing privacy significantly. I tested it at night with the lights on inside and the first 35" or so just showed shadowy outlines. Some tips:Be careful when peeling! If the film stick to itself it is going into the GARBAGE.I suggest soaping the entire area of the window and then peeling the top foot or so of backing off of the film and placing it on the window. Ideally have someone hold the top as you peel the backing off and place it on the window in a downward direction. If the film is not sliding on the window you need more soapy water. Lift and squirt (I filled an old Windex bottle with a copy drops of soap and cold water) until it is moving around.I precut my film. There are pros and cons to do it that way (especially if your windows are not square).Once the film is in place and the right size begin the squeegee process. This must be done REPEATEDLY because bubbles will form for several minutes after the film is place. When you first start squeegeeing out the water use you hand (or partner) to hold the film down. As you remove the water the adhesive will kick in and that won't be necessary. I use a small towel in one hand and squeegee with the other, wiping the water off the window as soon as it comes off.As you get most of the water off you need to be a bit more aggressive in the squeegee process but be careful that you don't damage the film as you press. They make soft plastic tools for doing this, but you can get pretty far with a credit card if you are very careful (and buff with the cloth afterward).

Quality Gradient Film
If you're looking at this gradient film, then you know how overpriced it can be purchasing from sellers within the US. Some of the price quotes I got were insane. The few gradient films I found, I didn't like the gradient pattern. The transition zone started too early or too late for my preference.I took a chance with this item because of price, and the transition occurred roughly where I wanted it. The film arrived undamaged, rolled up in a hard cardboard tube the height of the film. The thickness of the film was just about right, not too thin. Install was as expected for a film.I attached the only picture I have of the film installed which isn't a good one, but you get the idea. The film looks great. One additional note:The shipping was AMAZINGLY fast. I was expecting 3 weeks because it was shipping from overseas. I had the film in my hands in FOUR DAYS!

Hard to install
Looks good but requires professional installation. Our first attempt failed miserably, we then hired a professional installer and he too had a hard time but got it done with minor imperfections.

Cloudy film
It was easy enough to install, however, the film didn’t dry uniformly. Bubbles we’re removed, but the soapy water left streaks and blotches across the top where the film starts to clear. I’m returning it. I think the soapy water created residue on the film and window.

Really great look and perfect amount of privacy
Looks awesome on our front window to the street. Adds the perfect amount of privacy while still looking nice and letting us see out appropriately. Definitely takes some patience and time to get it to come out really well. Clean your windows a few times and make sure you buy a little extra for if you mess up like I did.

Adhesive backing on steroids, too clingy
I love the look of this product, but the glue is insanely adhesive. I bought enough for two doors, and after attempting to cover door number one, which was a fiasco, I left the backing on and instead use double-sided Scotch tape to adhere it to the other door. Not ideal, but a much better solution to applying it directly. When applying it, it was rippling, bubbling and extremely difficult to work with. After a couple inches I ripped it off the glass to try to reposition it, and it left a tremendous amount of glue which even Goo Gone had trouble removing, even with a razor blade. I wish this were the film that could be applied with soapy water in a spray bottle and a squeegee, that's what I thought I was buying. Oh well. It still looks pretty cool and gives you decent privacy. Just buy some double-sided Scotch tape LOL.
