Moment1.33x Anamorphic Mobile Lens – Capture True Cinematic Aspect Ratio, Gold or Blue Flare [Blue Flare, M-Series]

I had high hopes for this lens and I can say it has lived up to each one of them. The build quality is surprisingly high for such a small item and it has a good weight to it without being some rock on the backside of your phone.The glass itself is crisp and clean and delivers on its promise to give you a wider, more cinematic view when filming or taking photos.Be sure to rotate the lens mount for your device so that you get the correct anamorphic effect. If you don’t, it’ll just be distorted and you’ll be a bit in the dark over why you purchased the lens (as I was for the first 15 seconds it sat on the back of my phone).Yes you’ll need the moment app to desqueeze the image, but that app is also a gem too if you’re worried about customizing your images a bit more than the standard iPhone app.Overall, this is hands down a 5 star lens and I look forward to grabbing more moment products in the future!

I had some questions about the purchase and Moment took care of them. It comes in a foam protected box where the foam can be removed and put into a high impact foam filled photography case for a perfect fit. I am also impressed with the simplicity and durability of the Moment case system.I've never noticed blue lines when watching Sci-fi movies. Then I put this lens on my iPhone and point it at lights to see how creative it can be. The problem is when I watch the latest Star Trek movies or play a high rez space trading game on the PC I cannot help but looking at all these cool blue lines. Guess I'll have to live with this for life. Meanwhile it is well worth the low cost for a very impressive 1.33x anamorphic lens.

I have to admit, I wasn't initially pleased with the results. User error, oops!!!My lens came with the orientation 90º, presumably the orientation for some phone cases. I rotated the lens to the mount using the provided tool and SUCCESS!Oh my goodness, the results are beautiful. The images are so much wider, and clean. Definitely a distinctive look using an anamorphic lens, it isn't as distorted as a fisheye. I love having these Moment lenses for my iPhone, they so easily fit in my pocket and really expand the possibilities while capturing memories.

Amazing little lens. It is a great lens since I have been shooting on iPhone mostly. Adding a new perspective to my album is amazing. Very easy to use with Moment case. There are something that if Moment can work on that would be great. First shooting from Moment app is great but with Anamorphic is a little frustrated to not able to see the whole picture since some area on the left and right are blocked by the menu so I really have to keep in mind not only composition the image from the clear frame but the whole iPhone screen even the grey menu area. It would be wonderful if Moment can let us choose the whole screen or scale down and we can see the whole image without function area blocking. Second, I just found out that the bokeh of Moment Anamorphic is a horizontal oval instead of vertical tradition Anamorphic bokeh. It will be very awesome to see vertical oval boken from Moment anamorphic. It’s a great lens and fun shooting.

Perhaps my expectations were low even from all the online reviews, but this little lens has turned my iPhone into a nice little cinema camera. I have no intention of being a cinematographer, just want better than average videos of friends and family events. Know that you must also purchase a specific case for your smartphone and the Moment app (or equivalent for de-squeezing). Understand that it will not make your videos any sharper or better (it's still only a camera phone afterall), but it will capture 33% more field of view and give it a nice cinema feel.

I am uploading the image and video I shot from my phone using this anamorphic lens.The phone is Samsung Note 8 with MOMENT phone case and Moment Anamorphic lens.De-squeezing was used on photoshop for the image and Premiere Pro for the video.Take a look at the quality of the image and video with the motion picture flares.After buying and returning all those cheap clip-on lenses on Amazon, I decided to spend a bit more for the convenience and fail-safe result. Best decision I've ever made.With the Moment phone case, this lens come on with a simple 90 degree twist and you are ready to go.No hunting for the prime spot of the lens like those clip-on lenses. You get the prime spot of the lens every time you screw it on to your phone case.If you are looking to take your video footage to another level, spend the extra money and get the superior moment lenses. Solid metal and glass build, true anamorphics, and a great mounting system make for an amazing value. When combined with moment’s own manual camera app or filmic pro you can get some truly amazing videos out of this little lens. JPEGs can also be taken in photo mode but RAW will not be desqueezed automatically for you. When I received my lens I also had to rotate it with the included tool. A tiny little thing I can like. To a flimsy paper clip. My concern in this area is if the tool break I lose to ability to ever rotate the lens again. I don’t think I’d ever really want to but someone may, and there it deserves mentioning.
