Great! Almost all germinated! Pay attention to your starter soil though
So I probably should have used seed starter soil instead of regular potting soil with fertilizer in it. I think it might have been too strong a mix--nearly every single seed germinated, sprouted and is growing, but a few got way too leggy too fast and then flopped over and shriveled up. Most of them didn't, but I think they had too much juice too early, so use a proper starter rated for this particular seed for best results. Regardless, these are doing well being transplanted from the little pressed paper starter trays (just cut each unit loose and plant as is). I've put some in plastic pots on the porch and some straight in the ground and they are doing equally well. We're zone 4 in a canyon at 8400 feet up and the sunlight is very strong but only for a short part of the day. The young plants do not seem to like so much direct light so I'm moving them around some to try and get more dappled light from the overhead trees until they are stronger. I did make the mistake of putting two seeds in every little tray slot and I wouldn't do that again as there are two plants in each pod now. I should probably thin them to give them a better shot. I just didn't expect such thorough germination, wow. Initially I kept the seedlings indoors with only indirect light and keep the soil moderately moist. Very hardy so far. Can't wait to see them winding up the stairs and railings and over the planter pot sides!

So pretty
I had never grown Nasturtium before so I didn’t know what they were going to look like in person. I was so surprised at how beautiful the flowers were. It takes awhile for them to bloom but once they start blooming the color is so vibrant.

SO beautiful!
They’re a beautiful, pollinator-friendly addition to our gardens this season. The entirety of my package germinated perfectly and we really are enjoying them dancing in the breeze and garnishes too. Get some!

Planted in good soil
The seeds germinated and grew nicely with blossoms within 2 months…they are climbing with blossoms of orange and red. I think it is important and for best results to plant these in nutrient rich soil like a Miracle Grow or similar.

75% of seeds don’t germinate
Not all of the seeds germinate. I’ve started multiple batches and can only get a few to germinate.
