Helps create bug barriers on apples
This is the 2nd time I have ordered these. It does help prevent bugs from burrowing into apples. Stretches with the apples and usually stays on the apples. Very helpful to alleviate bugs without using chemicals.

to use when storing rv, to keep mice away.
am using them to hold moth balls to put around my rv. to keep mice from entering into it. it seems to do the job, bags keep the moth balls in place and lets odor out. i.put around any contact from the ground to my rv. such as tires, . any place mice might climb up to rv. can also put moth balls and dryer sheets in side of rv.to keep them away. d.s. allen park mi.

Do not recommend for fruit. Very thin material - rips.
We have been using the nylon footie method on our fruit very successfully for several seasons. This year decided to buy a bag of these cheaper footies and regretted it. They rip as they stretch to accommodate the growing fruit (see the attached images of a medium size apple and a bigger one). We had lots and lots of such stretched and ripped footies of this brand which clearly defeats the purpose. We usually buy the "Maggot Barriers" brand (a green box with n image of a farmer, $12.29) and they held up great and we have reused them for several years.I initially wrote a good general review explaining how the maggot barrier method works but after testing out this particular brand can surely say that the material of these particular socks is just too thin to work on even a medium-sized apple. I do not recommend this brand, buy the "Maggot Barriers" brand instead, they last and can be reused.AMENDMENT: kudos to the seller of this product, Store Fixtures Direct, for providing superb customer service. They answered my questions in the most respectful way.

Essential for protection from worms
If you grow apples, these are essential. I tried leaving the barriers off some of my crop. Every single apple without the barrier had worms! On the contrary, every apple with a barrier was perfect.

Easy to put on and no pesticides necessary.
Once my apples get big enough to wrap I put these socks on. If I miss a few the bugs get in and the apple is no good.
