Thus far, misunderstood but cheaper / decent alternative to Ring UPDATE
The following is a pretty in-depth review of my experience with the Geree thus far. I'll likely come back and update this as we get along further into homeownership and see how well this thing works. Thus far I'm only reviewing the IMMEDIATE set up and quirks I've found after a night of testing and messing with Geree:First off. Geree is one of a billion Chinese made knock offs of the Ring and other similar smart video doorbells. My reason for purchasing it, however, was that according to Amazon, it seemed to be the BEST of the Chinese knock offs. The Ring Doorbell original has 720p video for $99, and costs an extra $60-80 something for an indoor door wireless Ring door chime. The Geree Doorbell has 720p AND a wireless door chime included for only $60 roughly. If you're not hung up on NOT paying monthly for certain doorbell features like Ring offers, and are okay trying to interpret weird bad English directions, the Geree probably won't kill you. With that in mind, non-tech savvy customers be warned - you might be one of the many negative reviews Geree has because it simply is an incoherent product with bad directions. So far I've disproved most negative reviews by simply finding they didn't read the directions correctly. Now let's get into the set up.Geree comes with two weirdly large looking double AA batteries that are actually the doorbells rechargeable batteries. However it IS like the ring in that you only need to recharge these batteries via a micro-USB port on the back of the unit. I couldn't find a way to simply turn Geree off via the app or switch, so in the event you need to completely turn off Geree you will need to physically remove these "double AA" rechargeable batteries.Geree does come with the same mounting plate and cover / masonry screw holders and screws like the Ring does. I wasn't even expecting that so that's nice. We're planning on mounting this into brick so I'll come back later with an update and tips on how to approach that best. I also didn't bother setting up the door chime, will come back later for that as well. The most confusing and annoying part of Geree is SETTING UP THE DEVICE and PAIRING IT TO YOUR PHONE. Caps for attention to people skimming this. After some trouble shooting I did figure it out, even on multiple phones like my wife's. However one massive point before I go on, THIS ONLY WORKS ON A 2.4 GHZ WIFI CONNECTION. 5G band WILL NOT WORK. The directions say this. 2.4GHZ is pretty common but if you have a newer fancy wireless router that isn't dual band, you may not get Geree to work at all.To start, after you insert the batteries, Geree will turn on and start flashing a red circle light. This means it's ready to pair / setup with the app ToSee on your phone. The bad directions will indicate that once flashing, on your phones wifi network list, you'll see a wifi network titled specifically for the Geree and that you should connect to it. I've read reviews complaining that this wifi network is unsecure so "anybody could hack into my camera". I think this is a misunderstanding. What the Geree actually does it TEMPORARILY create a wifi network for you to connect to for pairing. Yes, it is indicated as an unsecure connection on your phone, but unless someone else knows you're about to pair AND you have this obscure app, nobody is going to pair before you do. Once connect to the wifi network, it'll then prompt you to name the Geree device whatever you like and most importantly will ask you to set up an admin password. This is the password that will prevent anybody other than you from accessing your doorbell.Once that's done, you should be able to click on your active devices (the only one you're paired so far) and see an image live. Given this is 2.4 GHZ, the connection is definitely not fast. What do I mean by not fast? About as fast as all the connectivity complaints I've seen from Ring. Apparently all these video doorbells have live previewing issues. Until bandwidth quality increases in the U.S. or 5G is more widespread, we're kind of stuck with this. I tested most of the Geree functions like infrared, scene rotation, two way intercom, etc, all seem to work decently. In order to test the doorbell function though, you'll have to close out of the app so it can actually ring your phone properly.Camera quality isn't much to write about. It's about what you'd expect for 720p. Much better in full daylight and degrades as scene gets darker and harder to capture. I've read that similar cameras and Ring doorbells at 1080p have bitrate issues just as bad as earlier models. Simply put these are not very expensive cameras being housed in any of these units.Motion detection on Geree as far as I can tell isn't amazing but I can't review with 100% confidence. If you pick up a camera and wave it around, yes, it should trigger motion detection. Not all cameras, however work like this. Some only trigger detection if the camera frame is stationary and objects crossing through it are big enough to be analyzed as a scene change in it's frame of reference. I was only able to stick it out the window at passing cards 50 yards away and it didn't' detect anything. That could be a good thing, you don't want every car setting off your phone. The real test will be actually mounting this on a door and walking up to it consistently. Do note that almost all Rings (even Pro) have this massive issue with motion detection and recording too later after motion happens. Will update later.Lastly, you CAN link your partner's phone with this device so multiple people get notifications and can view the camera. Two people can't view / talk / or change functions at the same time however. To pair someone elses phone with your already paired doorbell, this also falls into bad English land with the instructions. On paired phone, simply go to the camera view, and in upper corner somewhere is a branched "share" symbol. From here, you have the option to share a QR code, not sure which one it is but it is an option. On the unpaired phone, on the home screen of the app hit the plus symbol in the upper corner and select Scan QR Code. You can then scan the paired phone's displayed QR code. After entering the admin password, walaa, you're connected.Hope this was helpful to some people, as I know these knock offs can be hit or miss and convoluted at best. Thanks.UPDATE09/04/19: After a few months of ownership there are some significant flaws and quirks that need to be updated to this review.I've learned a lot more about the motion detection of this. Turns out it's as garbage as any other knock-off video doorbell or doorbell in general. If you're looking to really have stellar motion detection performance, save your money and just buy a closed circuit kit that records 24/7 to a DVR, it'll be way more convenient. The issue again stems from the fact software just isn't that great for motion, even in popular units like the Ring. Geere has None, Low, Medium, and High motion sensitivities. My camera faces an intersection, and if left on High, Geere drains itself in about 4 days. Doesn't help if you have a flag or tree in the wind either. I tried to see if the Medium setting would alleviate picking up too much motion for this. Turns out, all Medium means is that it records 50% of what High does. Not selectively intelligent capture, not zones, nothing, just straight up half the logged events are NOT recorded. This means if I have 10 packages delivered to my door separately throughout the day, it'll probably record 5 of the deliveries, and completely skip the one time a porch pirate takes all 10. Pretty abysmal.Battery life does better on Medium, but holy cow does this thing take hours to recharge. Might be my Android charger possibly, but even 6 hours isn't quite fully charged. I've found an OK balance setting sensitivity to Medium during the day, and High at night. Have been able to catch some interesting people driving by at 2am. If I'm expecting a package during day time, I will set to High temporarily from afternoon until when I return home.Last revelation is connectivity with the app. The response time is pretty slow. I do get a notification ring on my phone every time somebody rings the doorbell, but it usually takes 10-15 seconds for it to connect via 4G connection. This happened once and by the time I was seeing realtime who was at my door, the salesman was halfway through his speech. He also could not hear me very well. However, it is nice that Geere consistently records the doorbell calls. Burglars typically ring the doorbell first to see if anyone is home before breaking in, so it'll record that I guess. However, pray that they don't STEAL your video doorbell, as all of the captured motion and pictures are literally stored on the Geere unit. When I hit record in the app, THEN it records to my phone where I it begins syncing to a cloud service, not before. The Geere unit is essentially a Wifi device that you constantly access through the app - it acts as the camera AND server. Will update more if there's anything else of importance.

Great Generic Alternative!
For the price, you're getting what you're paying for. It does the job! The downsides for me is there is NOT a "private community page" so we can share our video clips with other who have the same video doorbell, a replacement, and a place to access these videos, if the video doorbell gets stolen. However, this is great at doing the job at a generic level without the big cost + you can see it from your phone. Plus, I rather have a generic one than none at all so if you're hesitant, I say try it out.

Nice video doorbell with no monthly cloud storage fees
This doorbell works just fine. It's subject to the same lapse in time in sending a notification by phone that someone is at the door that the two other video doorbells we have had. So don't rely on your phone to tell you in a timely way that you have a visitor. Hooking it into our home wireless ended up being a job for the tech guy from the office. He said it was tough getting the doorbell to join the network, so be prepared. It is hardwired and has battery back up, all of which is good. The literature says that there is video back up built in with an SD card; I haven't explored that aspect of it.

easy install great product so far
what I especially like about this product is the separate doorbell chime and those "stupid hard to find special batteries" which where included unlike the last video doorbell I had, took me forever to get the right batteries and then got charged an arm and leg for it! setup and pairing was easy enough; I look forward to see how long this one lasts, hopefully longer then 4 months like my last video doorbell that I bought from a different company, LoL

Geree WiFi Smart Wireless Video Doorbell
The product is made very well for the price. The setup was fairly easy, but took a couple attempts for it to connect to my WiFi network. The installation was straight forward for someone with some handyman skills. My outside wall is uneven stucco, which I had to drill (4) holes in, which requires some effort to keep the drill bit aligned. Since the stucco was uneven, the mounting bracket didn't sit flat so I had to compensate as the mounting shell plastic wanted to flex so I had to avoid tightening (2) of the (4) mounting screws all the way to prevent that. I then I had to caulk around it so prevent water from getting behind it. When completely installed, it looks great. Only problem is that I'm limited to the location of the old doorbell ringer hole, which is low enough such that the Geree camera can't capture above my shoulder when standing next to it. It would have been nice if the lens was as much "wide angle" up and down as it is left to right. Or, maybe allow the camera's wide angle to be rotated in the App to accommodate mounting situations like mine. I'm sure it will capture shorter people's faces and anyone bending down to try and steal one of my Amazon deliveries on the ground in front of my door. Either way, it's nice to have remote 2-way communication capability. Overall, I'm happy with the product and would easily recommend it to anyone that wants more security.

a little big
I had to return this one for a simple reason. It is a little wide for my door. There is nothing wrong with the doorbell

Don't waste your money
Well I downloaded the app on my cell but could not do anything to get it to work. My wife downloaded the app to her phone also-nothing. After spending hours of trying, the batteries went dead. But with no charger included, I would have to find a charger because this video doorbell cannot be wired to existing doorbell wiring. I could probably have called the company to see if they could send me a charger, but I have spent way too much time already and don't care to spend any more time with a doorbell that has too many major issues to solve without taking vacation to fix. If you want to get a doorbell that is easy to install and has intuitive operation, definitely look somewhere else.
