UPDATE after two weeks or so of use:The lift mechanism functions well. There is a chrome plated plastic ring glued to the bottom of the foot-rest which acts as alignment / guide to keep the outer tube (top part of the stool) gliding smoothly over the inner tube (stand). The ring came loose on one of he two stools. I am returning the stools. My original review is below. I had thought it would last well with my use. Your mileage may vary.ORIGINAL review:Its built just right. Looks elegant. Holds my near 175 lbs without complaint. Lifts and lowers just fine. However "Adjustable Height: 31.5" - 40.2" " specification is misleading. That specification is the height of the stool up to the top of the seat back. To my great relief, I found that the seat height from the floor is 23" at the very least and 31.5" when fully raised. Its not cushioned and I wanted it just as it is. Assembly was the easiest, I have ever known one to be. 5 minutes each, if that. Feels sturdy enough, if you don't try to rock or sway it while seated. Even if I do it doesn't feel cheaply made. It will last well with my use, that much I am confident. I recommend it highly.

These barstools are attractive, contemporary, and do not take up a lot of space. They are comfortable, easy to assemble and sturdy. At first, I thought the seats would be too small, but in fact they fit adults and children easily. I only had space for three (they come in sets of two), but I'm glad that I have the four....which is great when I have the 4 grandchildren here!

Easy to assemble, easy on the eyes. Looks great in my kitchen! Very comfortable on my back too. This app won't allow me to post pictures,, unfortunately.Two thumbs up 👍👍

These stools are awesome and seem really sturdy and well constructed. That said, being 230, the compression doesn't keep it fully in the up position, but otherwise they are great!

Look great, good quality. But a bit small , I a 5'11" 180 and I feel like I am all most falling out, but I still like them,, not used all the time so nice looking

They fit together very easy which was nice, They are comfy but a larger person would not fit in them, they are a bit smaller than we expected but we still like them they are what we have been looking for.

They are fun but not super comfortable if you are a bigger person.

These stools are perfect for the Egyptian themed bar I own. They are surprisingly comfortable and guests love the look. Time will tell how much they can stand up to use. The only negative I have is one of the 26 stools I bought didn't come with an adjustment lever.
