Morningstar Remote Meter (RM-1) - Universal, Four Digit Display - Connects via 10m Cable to Select Morningstar Controllers & Inverters - Meter Displays Voltage, Current & Temperature - Designed in USA

Now using this with my MorningStar SunSaver MPPT 15A solar controller. The data provided is very useful and appears to be accurate. Once you get familiar with the menu structure, there is a wealth of technical data available. The RJ-10's (6-pin) 30' cable length is more than adequate for most installations. I use a T-connector at the far cable-end so I can also link the data feed to my computer (one or the other - can not use both simultaneously).If looking at this meter in the dark of night the text is readable, but in most other area lighting situations, you may need to have a light source mounted nearby to read the data. I plan to add a shaded LED light above the screen in future.

The Morningstar RM-1 arrived early and in perfect condition. It functions as documented in the RM-1 MS-ZMAN-RM01-A and SSMPPT MS-001178 v3.7 manuals, the SSMPPT.APP MS-ZMAN-RM03-B meter map, and the SSMPPT-Fault-and-Alarm-Codes. No surprises, and for me it is handier than using MSView to query the same parameters.

Just recieved but didn't installed it yet. The reason I review it is to let potential buyers know that the dimensions given on this page are for the shipping box and not for the actual display. The display's dimensions are 3.75" x 3.75" and 1" thick. It also came with a surface mount plastic box 4.5" x 4.5" and 1 3/8" thick. If you don't like using the long RJ-11 cable (which I don't) you can replace it with a much shorter regular phone cable with 6 conductors. I was happy to see that the unit is made in Taiwan and not in China.

Plug and play. I paired it to a trackstar mmnp controller. This controller is 11 years old and was previously connected to a old anolog amp gauge. This is light years better than that , knowing current voltage , temperature,amperage and Amp hours is great. The long cable and surface mount trim include is awesome.

Works well. Not truly "backlit" on the LCD display, but adequate to see. I wish it had a reading on the amps being put out by the solar panels, but that is a small quibble.

Great Product, "actual" instructions and customer service to back it!!! Morningstar should be the standard of solar equipment.

I used this on our toyhauler, I would recommend this to anyone who is going to install a solor panel on their RV.Very easy to install and to operate.
