Great alternative for special needs
I have seldom ,if ever, written a review of something I have purchased online. But I thought this may help someone in the same situation as my family. My son has CP, among other things. He is now 6. We have tried different tricycle combinations and, this year, been fitted for an adaptive special needs bike through the therapy center he attends. He seemed thrilled at the fact of being strapped in the adaptive trike and being somewhat mobile. After the instructional session, taking pics and measurements, we received our quote...$4869! Needless to say I was quite shocked and disappointed since we, as any parent would, wanted our child to be able to enjoy the simple pleasure of riding a bike. Not to mention it is a developmental tool and would allow him to play with other children. So we set about doing whatever we could to provide him with this adaptive trike. After some thought, disappointment turned to something else. It seemed that the company was exploiting the fact that families who had already endured great difficulties and were desperate to do anything that may assist their child and at great expense/profit. I decided to look for an alternative. Within 15 minutes I had found this mobito. It seemed to address, perhaps not by design, the very issues my son faced.I purchased the bike and fashioned adaptive pedals which are, in my opinion, vastly more improved over the $300 "special needs" options I have found listed. Santa delivered the bike Christmas morning. My son was thrilled and upon being seated in it began to pedal forward and steer the bike ON HIS VERY FIRST ATTEMPT. After becoming more comfortable with it, he is moving around the culdesac and street we live on quite easily. He has yet to master it, but I was quite astonished how quickly he was able to use the bike. Also, the design is cool and different enough that other children find it intriguing which lifts some of the stigma so often encountered by a child with special needs. He has more difficulty on anything other than asphalt at the moment, but I think that will be overcome eventually. I read where some of the reviews expressed disappointment with the tools provided. Personally I found them to be adequate...maybe just a bit better than you would expect to get with any bike. But I used my own, so it was not an issue for me. Sorry for the length of this review. As stated from the beginning, I hope it will help someone in the same position as my family and open a door for another child.

Wow! This was awesome!!!!
We ordered this bike for my son who has some physical and language delays and was having a really hard time learning to ride with and without training wheels. Anxiety and having to focus on balance and pedaling while steering were keeping him from learning on a 2-wheel bike for 2 years or more. So...this idea popped in my head one night and I am SO GLAD it did. The bike assembled easily and he was off riding it in our yard instantly. He rode it in a kids triathlon 2 weeks after it delivered. It's supposed to be used on smooth, paved, flat surfaces. But we have taken it on hills, over grass, and through gravel (although gravel requires a LOT of leg strength). Just be careful going DOWN steep hills or around sharp curves, it could still tip over even though it's low to the ground and on 3 wheels.

It has worked better than I had hoped for and he cannot get ...
This was purchased as an economical starter bike for our seven year old son who has Cerebral Palsy. It has worked better than I had hoped for and he cannot get enough of it. Most recumbent bikes are three to four times the price of this one and we could not stretch for that price point. This one is perfect for a child, especially one with mobility challenges. We used "zip ties" to fasten a pair of his shoes directly to the pedals (poor mans clip on bike shoes) and it is fabulous. As a crazy kid, he has managed to flip it and get some road rash, but that is just an indicator of how much fun he is having. I would very much encourage this purchase, great exercise, great independence, sense of pride and really no down side at all.

Great to see her get a little bit of normalcy ...
Ordered this bike last Christmas for my daughter with joint and muscle disability. She loves riding the bike and is able to whip it around with ease after some trial and error on the steering bars. great to see her get a little bit of normalcy as most 8-9 yr olds like her friends and other kids in the neighborhood.Update: 4.15.2019Still going strong, 5yr old son now rides the bike too. 11yr old special needs daughter still rides bit looking for something bigger to accommodate her growing length.

Great for kiddos with balance challenges
My 5 year old has autism and struggles with gross motor skills. He's hated every scooter and other ride on we've purchased but seems to have really taken to the Mobo! He's also really big for his age, and this fits him fine and should fit for at least another two to three years, if not more given the easily adjustable frame. It was also very easy to assemble, and I'm not a very handy person! Be aware that it has a pretty wide turning radius, but that's not an issue for us. Five stars!

Great purchase lots of fun.
This bike was purchased for my 7 year old grandson. He doesn’t live locally and I needed something for him to play on while visiting. It was a big hit. It took a few tries to get used to the recumbent position, however after achieving mastery he rode it every day for the month he was here. I chose this bike because it was different and seemed like it had potential to adjust to a growing young boy making annual visits to Nana’s fun. The bike held up well with turns and braking. There are a couple cons although nothing serious. It was not very easy to assemble and it is awkward to maneuver from a grandparent’s perspective because it is low to the ground and heavy. In spite of the negatives it was a great purchase because it achieved its purpose and made my grandson very happy. I am told he would like to take it to his house. Unfortunately, there is no reasonable way to ship it to Australia.

Recumbent bike for kids.
Nice bike Solid build. great colors. My grandson is 40" tall. 36" is the minimum listed on this bike. to make it easier for him to peddle. I set the bike as short as it will go & I put a cushion in a backpack & strapped it to the seat to move him forward a bit. He can peddle great now. It's taking my 3.5-year-old some time to get the hang of it since you don't see the wheels turn when you turn like a regular upright bike because the wheels turn behind you. But It's going to be awesome once he gets the hang of it.

Not comfortable
Overall my son doesn't find it comfortable. You cant reverse on the thing and the flag just falls out so it's fairly unsafe. It takes a bit of effort to barely move the thing as it has tiny wheels.Overall I'm not impressed, I would return this if I had a box to return it in. What a waste of money and it's costly at that.

Great Replacement for bikes
He loves his cruiser,as he can turn without falling off.Has eye issues and balance, so this has been great for him , was concerned at first if people would make fun of him, but we told him, they wouldn’t they would wonder where he got it from.Comments have been oh that’s awesome , or so cool

Great leisure bike
This is a fun bike for sure. We got one for my daughter. This is a fixed gear bike however, so it's not suited for a lot of hills. It's great to ride around at a leisurely pace. Quality built and if you take off the flag and adjust the rear reflector it can be stored upright resting on it's rear wheels and seat back.

Amazing bike for kids with disabilities
My 8 yr old daughter has mild cerebral palsy. Her balance was a barrier to cycling until I bought this bike. It turns heads everywhere we go every kid in the area always wants to try it. The best part is that it will grow with her for at least another couple of years as the size is adjustable.

Great bike
Great bike. Only draw back is less traction on gravel and lack of more gears.
