First time trying mushy peas
I've known about mushy peas for years and finally decided to try some. Time consuming but they were really tasty. I'll definitely make them again. They have to soak for 12 hours so I got up at 5 in the morning and poured boiling water on them so I could cook them with supper. Takes a good 30 minutes to cook too. The soda tablets are included which was nice. I thought they were bland on my first taste but after I added sugar, salt and butter it really brought them to life. I have a new friend in the UK and she says she only buys canned mushy peas. That would be nice so you don't have to wait all that time.

Taste Like UK Mushy Peas
As an American, these tasted like the mushy peas that I had in the UK. I also found a video on YouTube that was uploaded by a Brit who used this brand and I followed his cooking instructions. I was pleased with the outcome because they tasted exactly like the peas that I ate in London. I do think the they are bit pricey for peas but I'm told that you must use marrowfat dried peas to get that authentic taste. Hopefully I can find them in a shop at a lower price but, if not, I suppose it's worth the extra cost to get the real deal.

They Should Be Shipped in a Box
We love the peas, but Amazon shipped them each time in flimsy bags and I had to return two orders because the boxes had been cut. Finally, after the third try we received a box intact.

These are the real thing!!
We were in GB several years ago and fell in love with Minted Mushy Peas. Every now and then, I'd get a yearning for some, but there were none to be found here. The last time the urge hit, my Amazon lightbulb came on and wa-lah... there they were. I ordered them, received them, cooked them according to directions... added a bit of mint and some salt and suddenly, I was back in Churchill's Tavern... Served with fresh Fish and Chips and it can't be beat!!

not necessarily โbiggaโ
quality is good but the โbiggaโ size is not.. 250 grams is pretty small portion.. so you may need 2 or 3 boxes.. amazon ships in a mailer so box was crushed downโฆ

Very tasty if you like mushy peas.
I can buy these in a can by the same brand. But wanted to try them freshly cooked. They are very good. A little more trouble but a nice addition to bangers and mash.

Mushy Peas
I'm something of an Anglophile, but I never had mushy peas. I was reading a mystery series and the characters were always getting fish and chips and mushy peas. So I did a little research and found out that mushy peas are field dried peas that are then soaked and cooked and are mushy. Doesn't sound appetizing, right? Let me tell you, these are fab. A different experience than fresh/frozen American green peas. Mushy peas made with Batchelor's Bigga brand are somewhat dry tasting and sweet. And a whole heck of a lot better then canned peas (yuck!). I truly like these and have them now every time we have fish in our house. They are truly very good. Give 'em a try!
