I really dislike flies! I know they are necessary for the planet . . . But aaahh!
As I said, for me, flies are the downside of summer. Our street is surrounded by trees, where flies seem to like to hang out. Also in our house. This year has been the worst I’ve ever known, as it’s been so damp, humid and murky. There are more than ever! I find them particularly annoying when I’m trying to cook / bake. They are so determined (and brilliant) at landing on some piece of food . . . Just two seconds after I’ve placed it on the work top! So I have to have numerous net food coverings as I’m preparing eg a cake. I’ve tried closing the windows and spraying before hand, but they are determined survivors! And I’ve been losing. I haven’t used this type of kit for many years; but out of desperation, have resorted to the old tried and tested sticky strips method to try to fight back a little. The strips arrived just two hours ago. I immediately hung one up. Already there are ten dead flies on it! I really don’t like killing anything; but since they seem to have had the upper hand this year, am much relieved! Maybe I’ll go back to a bit of spraying next year. Excellent product. Fairly easy to tie up. VERY EFFECTIVE! Many thanks! 😜🥂🥂🥂

Stickier than a toddler who's been at the jam
I swear this is the most transferable sticky stuff known to man. You WILL get glue all over your hands when unwrapping the trap. Dish soap gets the residue off your hands, but your taps will be sticky for days after if you touch them. The trap catches flies fine, though efficiency is significantly improved by sticking a strawberry top or french fry on as bait. It will also catch your hair if you accidentally get too close. Found that out the hard way. Attaching the trap to things/Hanging the trap can be a bit of a mare, as the push pin doesn't like to stay in unless you jam it through the bit of string stuck in. I'd recommend sacrificing a stapler or safety pin to the sticky gods instead. Still, it's cheap and cheerful, does what it's supposed to. No regrets.

Not very effective
Not the most effective of fly papers. Did catch a few but I'd probably pay more for Raid ones (which I've used before) if I needed to buy any more.

Don’t bother
Completely crap You can’t unwind them without the sticky paper snapping there rubbish

I've used these for ages, look here for advice
For this product to work you can't put it at the window. It should be out in the middle of the room where the flies tend to go in circles. Be VERY slow when unfurling it as it can tear or come out of the base and then you'll either have to put a big paper clip at the bottom or something you're willing to throw away. Additionally, for the stickiness in your hands what you have to do is after you put the product up, rub oil on your hands vigorously. Then wash that off with dish soap and bang! No sticky fingers. To collect it you should pick it up like dog poo, if you just try to throw it in the trash as it is, it will stick everywhere and it will be extra disgusting to pick it back up lol. Only qualm I have is that it doesn't work on the big fat flies. Apparently they're not smart enough to figure out a window but they are crafty enough to not fly near this thing, go figure. Thankfully since they like to sit on the window glass, my dog can get them and show me the body to hide the evidence hehe

Handy to have
Surprisingly effective against wasps this summer. Used most of them before destroying the nest.

Great fly catchers
These are the only things that work to catch flies in the house. They catch big and small flies!! They are very sticky and easy to pin up where needed. I did find them a little tricky to unravel and a few times the bottom cardboard popped off which caused them to curl back up and stick to itself but when this doesn’t happen they are great! I stick them to the front of my guinea pig cage to stop any flies from getting in and they are the perfect length.
