Worked perfectly on 86 chev power steering
Excellent, wonderful tool. I was replacing the power steering on my 86 chev. A frame p/s unit, pain in the neck to replace. The p/s pulley is attached by pressure, not a screw - and there are bolts for the bracket mount behind the pulley. The pulley must come off - and then go back on. This tool worked perfectly! I was puzzled by the directiions, but then I let the engineering speak to me, and off came the pulley. The pulley was 350k miles old. I used a little penetrating oil, let it rest overnight - and off it came. Takes muscle. Do it slow. I used a couple of big wrenches. Then I used another part of the tool to put it back on. You pull it off and you screw-grab it back on. The center spinle of the p/s is hollow and has screw threads which the grabbers take, and pull the pulley forward onto the shaft. Amazing!!! Took me 25 minutes to figure out the tool and take the pulley off. I could now do it in 5 minutes. Took me 7 minutes to put the pulley back on. Requires muscle and slow movement, little at a time.

Nice cheap puller installer
This is my second puller. I seem to wear these out quick when I pull the pulleys off the pumps. These are indispensable when installing a pulley on a power steering pump. My friend who works on trucks told me to use a little grease and it makes installing the pulleys really easy. Follow the directions on the package, this tool is the best for DIY people who want to save money. I would always recommend buying a new pulley with every power steering pump and having one of these tools in your box.

Amazing Customer Service/Warranty Worth it for my $$
Needed just the bearing for my old kit so decided to buy this. Worked fine but the adapter for my 5.4 3v broke while using. Contacted Astro and they warranty the part fast. Lucky I had a back up from my other brand kit. Nice case so far good for the price. Worked perfect for my 5.4 3v Triton.

Ok puller
You get what you pay for with this puller set. After using only a few times , there is noticeable wear on the parts. It would work fine in home use but not for a regular user

Great for pulling/installing pullies.
Without a pulley tool, most pulleys metal can be muscled off with time and effort, however plastic pulleys tend to break rather than give in to prying or pounding. This kit, effortlessly pulled the power steering pulley from my pump, and made installing the new pulley, a breeze. The cost of this tool, even if only used once, is worth the headache and frustration of not having the right tool and possibly damaging your parts. Use it more than once and it has easily paid for itself frustration avoided, or hiring someone to remove your pulley. Highly recommended!

Easily and quickly remove power steering and other pulleys
I had an annoying power steering leak from the rear plate seal, the pump would also whine pretty loudly in cold weather due to air ingestion. It was time to rebuild the pump. I ordered this tool for the pulley removal and installation as well as a seal kit. I had absolutely no problems at all. The tool smoothly removed the pulley and installed it when I was done. My pump/shaft had little to no corrosion so no extra effort was needed except for the tool. If your pump shaft is rusty you'll need to clean it up best you can before using this or any pulley remover. If the pulley binds, it could break this or any other type of tool so be diligent. I don't think this tool is prone to failure but I do believe some situations are worse than others and if you're not careful, things can strip or snap.

SAVE YOUR MONEY !!!
DON'T BUY THIS IT IS JUNK!!! Did not even get one use out of it! I am a Master Technician, I know very well how to use tools so trust me when I tell you this is junk. The puller should have one narrow side of the clam shell and one wide side, it does not both are wide. The tip that should slide into the screw shaft does not fit properly I could not get it in at all. I used the tip from my old set similar to this but it was Matco which was pretty good and lasted several years. I thought I would save some money and get this only bc I do not have a Matco guy in my area now. Also the pulley installer does not work either the bearing does not work properly. The bearing is what I needed the most it is what broke on my Matco set. You can get the pulley on after fighting it and when you do there is not stop so its very easy to install the pulley to far and then you have to pull it back to the proper spot. I was able to use it ONLY because of the extra parts from my Matco set otherwise it would have been useless and still the pulley installer is no good . I had to buy a pulley installer from Snap-on for about 4 times as much but I'm sure it will last. I am able to still piece my two sets together to use as a puller.

Not worth the price. Used it to remove a water pump pulley that worked but try reinstalling the pulley & the bolts that came with it are so soft they strip the threads, could only press the pulley half way on & that’s as far I could go with it, a waste of money better off buying a decent set. as this one only does half a job.
