this food made my cat sick.
I started feeding my cats Wellness canned food back when it was made differently, meaning better. I made the mistake of not keeping up with changes in manufacture and it made one of my cats very sick. One of my cats started losing weight a few months ago, and I took him to the vet, and she couldn't find anything wrong with him. He didn't have energy, and he kept losing weight, and eventually he quit eating his food. I didn't know what to do so I switched to a different brand of canned cat food and he started eating again. He started putting on weight and of course I ended up discussing this with my veterinarian. She said that I was not the only client who reported problems with Wellness food. Other people reported that it made their cats sick, throw up or lose weight. That's my experience, in brief. You're welcome to do your own online research. Basically, this food was making one of my cats sick and I had to quit feeding it to him. this used to be really good food but somewhere along the way it changed. Do your own research, that's my advice.

The ONLY Brand My Extremely Finicky Cat Will Eat Now
Before my cat got sick, she was an extremely finicky eater, to the point where you'd have to present a few cans of food or different scoops of dry food to see which one she would eat. During that time, I had never heard of the Wellness brand, so none of the foods we tried were of the Wellness brand(most of them were Fancy Feast, Purina, etc.). Around late December of 2020, she fell ill with liver problems and stopped eating all together. At that time, she was about 4 pounds. The vet put her on different medications, one being an appetite enhancer. With that, she went back to just being her finicky self. She liked the Fancy Feast Savory Centers for a while, but stopped eating them. So, in an attempt to find something she would eat, at least for awhile, I tried some brands that I had never heard before, with the Wellness brand being one of them. When she tried the Wellness brand food(the Chicken and Herring) she ate it all and wanted more. I tried another brand and she just looked at me like I was stupid. So, I gave her the Wellness Chicken and Lobster pate and, shortly there after, she ate it all, as well.Since then, though she is still sick, she has gained about 3 to 3.5 pounds. The only time she gets finicky is when she wants a different flavor of the Wellness pate wet cat food. She doesn't care for any other style besides the pate. Also, she doesn't care for the Chicken and Beef and will not eat the Turkey and Salmon. But, she'll eat any other flavor, including the Beef and Salmon. Also, she loves the dry food. I just wish I had known about this brand before, not that I think it would have prevented her from getting sick, but it would have made life much better for her...and myself.

Still good, even better, no carrageenan
Cats still like this food with the new formulation- but I had to persist in giving it to them despite the turned up noses initially and the walks away in disgust- One trick I found to work, if they turned their nose up at the new food, was to move their food bowl somewhere strange and that befuddled their tiny kitty brains and they were more likely to sample the new food and give it a fair shake. I fed my boy cat the new food on his cat tree, or in the middle of living room a few times. I'd follow him sauntering away and just drop the bowl down. "how about now?".. he finally relented and ate. I have to say the change to the new formulation was fortuitous for me as I was trying to get them off Wellness due to the carrageenan. One of my cats had been throwing up a few mornings a week after eating the old formula.Wellness has finally removed the carrageenan! She hasn't thrown up since starting this new formula, fingers crossed.** I won't buy this in bulk from Amazon until I know this transition is over with- I can't risk getting the old formula-

My cat likes this turkey salmon recipe
I was shocked and delighted to see my cat eating this turkey and salmon pate food. He's old and has his good and not so good days. His appetite is always lackluster. But he eats this with actual enthusiasm! I buy the three ounce cans, he eats just a little bit at a time so I dole it out in small doses three or four times a day. By the end of the day he's eaten nearly a can, then overnight he eats some kibble. Next time I buy kibble I'm going to try Wellness brand.

My Cat's live a LONG time!
Many years ago a vet recommended Wellness prescription for my sick kitty. My kitty ended up not liking the prescription grade, so we put her on the regular Wellness for cats, chicken flavor. I loved the quality of the ingredients and my cat loved the flavor. Back then she was said to have cancer and some other sicknesses and would not live much longer, but instead she gained her strength and went on to live happily another 8 years. She passed away at 19 years of age. Since then I have fed my kitties both wellness canned and dry food daily and they have super soft fur and are healthy and happy. Although the food is a little pricey, I think it's worth it and ordering it discounted here on Amazon in the large cans or on Chewy is a great way to help afford it.

Great quality cat food
I feed all 3 of cats this brand. The Complete Health line is NOT grain free, which is the CORE line. But the ingredients are still really good. The pate texture are color and consistent all these years. The aroma always gets my cats going, especially the Chicken and Herring flavor. When I was trying to capture a feral kitten, I used Wellness Chicken and Herring and Salmon flavor to get her attention. Pretty hard to do outside with a strong gusts of wind blowing away the smell, and I tried feeding shy cats using other brands like Fancy Feast but this one works better. Wellness has a good reputation over the years with little to no recall history. While you should transition any new food to your cat slowly, I had yet to see any digestion issues from this food.

Rating for Amazon's price
Food is fantastic, it's all I've been feeding my cats since I adopted them. They love it, their coats are fantastic, and they're both a great weight and super healthy. I'm a subscribe and save customer of the 12.5 ounce cans, but the last two months I skipped my orders and instead purchased from a local store because Amazon's price skyrocketed from around $44 for a case of 12 cans to around $66 to $68. This 50% price hike is ridiculous and unjustifiable. I won't be purchasing from Amazon again at this price.

My Cats Love This Food...BUT the price went CRAZY
... the price just keeps going up and up and up. The costs are now so ridiculous I realize it is time to find another brand. I feel that Wellness has taken advantage of its customers. They seem to be all about the money. If anyone has suggestions of a good quality cat food, I am open to suggestions. I was also a subscribe and save customer. Now I feel I was a suckered customer. I found it at PetSmart and they deliver for free as well. Wellness needs to wakeup.....they lost a lot of customers.

Totally satisfied
The All About Cats channel on Youtube did a review on the best least expensive pet food and we are so glad I watched that. I mix this wet wellness food she recommended with Kirkland dry which is working perfectly. They both cost more but I'm giving smaller portions as I divide the little cans into 4 portions and he eats it all every time and is totally satisfied. Im guessing its like when we eat junk food and stay hungry because of the lack of necessary nutrients. I snuck in some of his old cat food and he rejected it and once threw it up. Just ordered another case.
