Britax Baby Carrier Seat Extender Insert, Black

My son is a hefty kid. At 11 months he is already 28lb's. He has been using the carrier since 2 months and loves it. As he has grown though, the initial seat has grown small and he gets uncomfortable after a short period of time. But I am not ready to give up the freedom that I enjoy having him strapped to me. (Once they start walking it is great being able to keep them secure and happy!) Using this insert I have been able to greatly extend the use of our Britax carrier. It lifts his thighs so that his legs are supported almost to his knees. It can only be used inward facing, as it wraps their legs around your abdomen. But he is comfy, I am happy, and that is the goal!

I really enjoyed this Carrier when my son was a newborn. When he go older and I removed the infant insert. I realized this is no more than a "crotch dangler" carrier. Which was uncomfortable and not good for babies hips. While searching for a new carrier I found this insert. This has worked very well for me. Just wish it were part of the original carrier. Expensive accessory that is neccessary.

While I love my britax carrier, it's the best for my back by far. I never had a need for this toddler insert. My kids were rarely in the carrier when they became toddlers, but if they were they really didn't seem to need this at all. It just didn't seem necessary, but it is made well like all Britax products are.

This insert works well enough, but it was difficult to get it installed properly. I am of the opinion that it should be included as a set with the baby carrier, both considering the price of the carrier and the necessity of this once your child outgrows the infant insert. However, I have been pleased with the quality of this and other Britax products that we have used.

It does extend the seat, but not comfortably. My son loves to be held--in any carrier but this one. He was about 15lbs when we first tried this extender, and it still doesn't get baby's legs into the "M" position. Little man had deep red marks mid thigh after 45 mins in this thing. Still uncomfortable now that he's 20+. I'm hoping to sell the whole thing soon... Tired of looking at it, but I'm not holding my breath.I guess it might work if you like to face your baby outward, but I just bought an Ergo--infinitely better!

This worked perfectly so we could properly carry our little on in the carrier with good support. I can't believe they don't just come with the carrier to begin with, because without this, the carrier does not provide knee-to-knee support, which is essential. So, if you have the Britax soft baby carrier, you need this! It'll provide much more comfort, and proper stabilization and bone support to your little one.

This seat extender puts baby's legs in a much more ergonomic position while she is facing me.I just wish that it came with the carrier instead of being sold separately, because otherwise the carrier is an uncomfortable "crotch-dangler" for baby.

While I wasn't the biggest fan of the Britax Baby Carrier, I was a fan of this insert while using the carrier. This extender allows you to get the baby into a more ergonomic position. My son was comfortable while riding in this. I found it easy to install and use. If using the Britax Baby carrier this is a definite must.
