LOVED Simon and Abby!
I loved Simon and Abby's story. They were each remarkable people. People I'd want for friends or coworkers. I'll admit it, I want Simon for MY boyfriend, darling little girl and all. Watching Simon play with Hayden (the five-year-old) was beyond sweet. He's the daddy every child needs, and it's no wonder Abby was already in love with him, whether she'd admit it or not. Yes, lust or at least serious attraction first, because Simon was beyond gorgeous. The entire package. The body and the heart. We knew exactly how Simon would treat Abby, and watching their love story develop and blossom was a real treat.I'll never look at nature documentaries the same way. I'll never look at a French braid the same way. I may still be in love with Simon after five more book boyfriends. And still think Abby kills it as a language teacher, Nanny of the Year award, and best stepmother (that term just doesn't apply here though) ever. I loved to hate Simon's ex-wife. What a bitch! I loved how Simon interacted with her and how, when she thought she had all the ammunition, Simon couldn't help but smile out of bone-deep happiness, and his happiness got the ex square in the chest, far better than if he'd fought back. This story didn't have the razzle-dazzle that some of Blakely's books did, but it's not fair to compare this A+ title with those of hers that knocked it well over the park fence (Like Mr. O, which earned an A++), as all by itself, this stand-alone but wonderfully connected full-length contemporary romantic comedy absolutely shines.Sensuality Level: Rated R, with all the humor and heart-connectionLanguage: Rated R, but not overdoneViolence: None

Forbidden love tale!
The Sexy One by Lauren Blakely is full of sexy times and is all the more alluring since it is a "forbidden" love tale! I don't think I've ever read a book by LB that I haven't enjoyed.Simon is a single 30 something father, smart businessman, sexy as sin, and is staggered by his adorable daughter's nanny, not only by her beauty but by her personality and the way she is so great with little Hayden. It hit me a few chapters in that he was actually in Mister O, also by LB! Anyway, Abby is a 26 year old girl loving life and has the hots for her employer. Not only is he hot but he makes her melt by how loving a father he is, not to mention the two have developed a friendship and have great discussions from nature to food and languages and so on. It becomes clear to her over time that Simon is feeling what she's feeling in the I-gotta-have-you-now-department and vice verse happens for him. The question is, once that line is crossed is there any going back? I like that the chapters were a mixture of Abby telling the story and then Simon, gave a chance to hear the inner thoughts of both characters and to understand where each is coming from. I liked how Harper and Nick from Mister O had a part in The Sexy One! The kitchen scene and Simons bedroom scene were amazing! After things heat up between Simon and Abby, and the throes of passion give way to the morning light, there is the issue of employer/employee/boyfriend/girlfriend. I won't give it all away! Happy Reading!

5 hilarious and sweet stars :)
Technically this is the first book in a sort of spin off-ish / companion series to Lauren Blakely's hugely popular Big rock series :) we met these two main characters in a second novel of that series... but I use the word "technically" cause this book can totally be read as a standalone... you want proof? :) I read only the first book in Big rock series, so these two were completely new people to me and it absolutely did not take away any joy I had while reading this book :) so definitely don't be discouraged if you are new to this author or don't remember every little detail if you read her other stories :) you will fall in love with this novel either way :) let me tell you a bit more about it :)Simon is a single dad with a little girl and Abby is her nanny... I know, I know... but don't roll your eyes at me :) it may sound like a cheesy cliche but it's sooooo not like that :) add to that the fact that Simon is eight years older than Abby... :) yeah... but I absolutely adored both of them :) Simon is an investor and a wonderful dad to his daughter... he's funny and smart and it does not hurt that he looks like Chris Hemsworth... *sighs dreamily* :) Abby is fantastic as well: hilarious and bright, she loves to take care of Hayden (I may have made a mistake in Simon's daughter's name, only because I listened to the audiobook version of this story, if I did, sorry) :) I don't really want to get into too many specifics about the story itself, because the book is not super long and it takes place over a pretty short amount of time, so I don't want to spoil you anything ;) instead, let me just gush all about how amazing this story was ;)When I first heard about this book I was a bit hesitant... thinking what most of you probably were thinking when you read what this book is about... that's it's gonna be stereotypical and cliche and just... silly :) oh, how wrong I was... I should have believed my sister, who read the book before me, and said I would completely fall in love with it :) yes J, you were right once again :) be nice and don't gloat ;) moving on... :) this book was just sooo... funny, sexy, lovely, cute, wonderful... you can add all other amazing adjectives and they would all be true... :) it was yet again a story where adults acted like adults, talking with each other, without any stupid / unnecessary drama or angst... and my lovely sister read a few more books by this author than I did (so far) and says the same thing can be said about them... you guys... if that will be the case, I will buy them all... and Lauren Blakely will land very high on my list of all time favourite authors... :) all of her stories I read so far, I loved :) they have the perfect balance of hilarious, sexy and just simply adorable :) between amazing main couple and lovable secondary characters you will be absolutely entertained... especially since the majority of those secondary characters already had (or will have) their own stories... let's just say that once I read one of her books, I always end up buying more... :) Lauren Blakely's writing style is very quickly becoming one of my favourite :) I am just having the best time reading her books :) this time we have two perspectives, and since I listened to the audiobook version, two narrators :) one for Simon (Sebastian York) and one for Abby (Andi Arndt) and both of them did a phenomenal job :) especially Sebastian's voice whispering to your ear will completely melt you... *sighs dreamily* :) I highly recommend you this beautiful story, no matter if you are already a fan of this author, or completely new to her work :) it will melt your heart and bring the biggest smile on your face :) so definitely pick up this gem :)

The Sexy One
The Sexy One by @laurenblakelybooks is the first book in the One Love collection. This was a re-read for me and this time I decided to listen on audio. The collection is narrated by Andi Arndt, Sebastian York and Zachary Webber - my favourites!Simon is a single dad, a wealthy businessmen and known as “The Sexy One” among the nannies of New York City. Abby is nanny to Simon’s adorable little girl Hayden. They have a great relationship and when chemistry sparks between them it’s unstoppable. This is a dual POV, workplace/single dad/forbidden/nanny romance and I loved it. I love seeing both characters perspectives as they’re at different stages in their lives and although there’s a few years between them I wouldn’t call it an age gap. They’re matched in maturity despite being a few years apart in experience.Lauren Blakely has so far never failed me! I always love the characters and the writing is so easy to become absorbed in. I can’t wait to continue on with the rest of the One Love collection and I’ll be listening to them all on @audible.

Hello my perfect book husband!
Well hello there....... back to dual POV with both Abby and Simon having voices in this romantic, sweet, sexy and sometimes H.A.F (hot as fudge) book from Lauren Blakey.I was dying to read this as the single Dad, and a hot one at that is one to make me melt and boy did Simon swoon me silly.Abby was a perfect heroine, Lauren loves to make her heroines sassy, smart and sexy and she was adorable. This is romantic and swoony and ahhh.....When you dream of perfect scenarios for nanny, dad and an adorable little girl, yes.. and then some it is 'get me to the park to look for dads right now' in a non creepy way perfection! Ovaries on overdrive and let me hunt for baby eagles stat!

He's hot, he's sexy and he's 'the one'!!!
I love Lauren Blakely’s book. Her writing is always fun and flirty, full of humor and that all important passion. The finished story never fails to leave me with a happy heart and a huge smile on my face and The Sexy One was no exception.I really loved this forbidden love, friends to lovers, boss/ assistant romance. Simon was the perfect hot and sexy alpha male, with the heart of gold and the cutest little girl.Abbie is his daughter Hayden’s nanny. She’s secretly been in love with his since they first met, as he has been with her, although they think it’s just lust. Both know they shouldn’t act on their impulses and they haven’t until one night, the attraction was just too strong. These two were devine together, I loved every minute of this story. It was fun, I laughed, I even cried a little and that ending… aww, I perfect. What more can I say?

Very enjoyable read
Just finished this after starting it this morning (good way to spend a day off sick!) and I loved it. Like most of Lauren Blakely's books it was easy to read, nothing too challenging but interesting, had a good story line, had many laugh out loud moments, many smiles, a few twists and lots of passion. I loved Simon, that he was normal, even though gorgeous, he wasn't big headed etc. I loved Abby and her bizarre interests in nature which made me smile, I loved Hayden, she was just so cute, I loved the relationships of them all within the story and I loved the ending...the epilogue....which I wasn't best pleased with...followed by the next epilogue which made me happy! Read it, go on! X
