Responds to a signal from Germany, but can be offset for other time zones.
The time signal for this clock emanates from a source near Frankfurt. However, the range is around 1,500 Kms. At first I thought I would have to accept that the clock would operate in Central European Time and, being in the UK, it would always be an hour out. Not so - they'd thought of that! It took just a couple of minutes to offset the signal by one hour, so that it reads correctly in the UK. Mainland Europeans make seasonal adjustments on the same days that we do, so it will always be accurate. The display couldn't be clearer. Setting the two alarms couldn't be simpler. The robust design and build give the clock a pleasingly chunky feel. This is by far the best alarm clock I've ever owned.

Great little clock
Great little clock. The negative display is very easy to read. All the necessary information are displayed clearly on the screen. Has accurate temperature display. Two alarms. Light is bright. A very good auto light which is great for night time. Great radio atomic clock accuracy. Very easy to use. And it runs on battery! All those features on batteries! No messy cables. Which makes it very portable. Highly recommended.

Very clear at night.
Nice little alarm clock. Very clear at night. The alarms could do with being a little louder, But maybe it’s me not waking up in the morning .

A pleasure to use
I'm very pleased with this clock. I wasn't sure whether I would use the dual alarms (or get confused by them) but actually that feature has been handy for choosing a later time at the weekend without changing the normal weekday setting. It's great to be able to see the alarm times at a glance without menu diving. The switches feel durable and they can be set to operate silently. The clock picked up the time signal from Germany without difficulty (in Buckinghamshire). I felt like I was fighting the switches and display on my previous radio controlled alarm, this one is a pleasure to use.

A really nice alarm clock. Definitely worth a look.
I recently bought The Bingo 2 which is noticeably bigger, better made, and much louder than the Bingo 1 I also own. The Bingo 2 takes three AA batteries as opposed to the two that power the Bingo 1 and also has the option of allowing both alarms to start at full volume or to slowly rise to it (the Bingo 1 has a fixed option of slowly rising to full volume and is also too quiet for me when full volume is reached). I have no trouble at all waking to the Bingo 2 with Alarm 1 although the second alarm sound is still a bit soft so I don't use it.Another positive it that both Bingo alarm clocks have no problem picking up the radio signal from Frankfurt if you live in England. To ensure that your clock displays the correct time for the UK one simply changes a setting that allows the time displayed to be -1 hour from the time signal. There is the option to adjust +-9 hours from this signal which makes this a very nice travel clock as the Frankfurt time signal radiates approximately 1500km according to the supplied information. It is worth noting that my Bingo 1 and 2 alarm clocks display 24-hour time by default and not AM/PM. The only way to get the clock to display AM/PM is to set the temperature readout on the clock to Fahrenheit in the settings. Very odd but at least it works. You just have to deal with temperature displayed as Farenheit. If there is one negative it's that the Bingo 2 can topple over easily if you knock it whilst turning the alarm off or snoozing it but that's not really a fault, it just needs to be handled more carefully than alarm clocks with a lower profile. My recommendation then is to skip the Bingo 1 and put an extra tenner towards the Bingo 2. It's a much better clock, is better made, and more importantly, it wakes me up!

Details matter!
It’s an alarm clock! But if you get some small design details wrong it will surely bug you or you get up late because the design doesn’t make it obviously when it set or not. This one get it all spot on, great electroluminescent backlight, clear display, 2 alarms, easy snooze and it has that German quality look and feel. All great. It’s radio controlled too, so you don’t ever have to correct the time, not even daylight saving, it just works! Snooze is 5 mins and not adjustable. That could be better, a few options at least would make this the perfect alarm clock!

Why exactly is this being sold in the United States?
The product description should clearly state that this clock can only synchronize with a time signal in Frankfurt, Germany (or within 1,500 km of it.)So one has to wonder, why exactly would anyone in the U.S. even attempt to buy this?Staring at its dimly lit LCD display will only make you feel sad and depressed...What a complete waste of time!
