12v 5A Power Adapter. Or is it?
Received this 12v 5A Power Adapter today and after reading previous reviews prior to purchase, I done a couple of checks myself prior to using this adapter on my expensive Celestron Telescope.12v output? Yes it is.5A output? Well, it registered just under 3A on my multi tester but it's suficient for my telescope's requirements.But, here's the huge issue. it's output is 5Amps. So, why is the plug fitted with a 13A fuse? What is that going to protect? Changed fuse for a 3A, as my telescope doesn't need anymore than 2A when manually tracking and less than 2A when auto tracking.Yes, it's a good adapter, it's centre point positive and the price is right but for other customers purchasing this adapter. Check the fuse before using, as it will more than likely have a 13A fuse in it and change it for what Ampere you require.Thanks for reading.

Not great for adjustable LEDs
Works, however if you dim your LED strips at all, the psu emits a varying high frequency squeal, the dimmer the LEDs the louder it gets. I'm very sensitive to buzzing and interference, so it's a deal breaker for me.

Good supply, good quality
Good power supply!I use it constantly 24/7 since i bought it in Sept. 2019No problems so far! Using it for my diy 3D Printer fillament storage dehumidifier. So i use it needs to provide apr. 4A constantly!

Not what it claims to be!
No way is this 5amp. More like 1amp. Can't even power 2 cctv cams. I'm a sparky and install cctv all the time. Not buy one of these again. Binned it! As it could be a cheap import and a fire risk.

Works very well
Recently I purchased an expensive USB-C laptop dock for my laptop and, for whatever reason, they decided to send me a US plug power adapter to power it.I spotted this one due to all the positive reviews it received. It works well with the laptop dock. A decent purchase.

Sleeved earth pin
Earth pin is sleeved, therefore it does not comply to BS1363 and thus should not have been sold.Ironically the product does not need to be earthed, but still breaks British consumer law by being sleeved, as it could be used for something else e.g. desktop computer with metal case.

This unit does not supply the rated power output claimed.
This unit caused inference on the security camera (1) that did operate. This unit was purchased to replace a 12vdc 4amp unit therefore the supplied 5amp unit should have fine. The CCTV and recorder is currently working correctly from a 12v battery backup supply.

Works fine so far
Unlike others bought to power a 18650 battery charger. Running @ 2A stays cool. Comes packaged in unbranded box, no documentation whatsoever.Seems decent quality so no complaints.
