Great Designs!
I am starting with the book made out of old photos. This will be my first bookbinding project with thread. I have made a couple of books with a ribbon binding out of old photos already. I like the antique look. I loved many of the designs in here. The instructions are pretty great, but I think I will need to watch some YouTube videos for the sewing. I am not picking up on that as easily. I can't even get my needle through the layers. I learn by watching someone do it, though. The rest of the instructions are really clear, though. Don't let my difficulties discourage you from buying this book. There are a lot of different sewing techniques included. I will try to update when I get a book done. Warning: I am a slow crafter!

Focuses more on the "how to"
Tons of how to info. I love how this book has a lot of instruction. Many other books that I have looked at focus a lot on the artwork rather than the instruction, which is good for those looking for inspiration, but for someone new to bookmaking like me it is very overwhelming especially when at the moment all I was looking for was a "how to" book. This book does just that, it is more instructionally focused in bookmaking rather than many "museum like" bookmaking books I have seen that are mostly used for others to display their art.

Good instruction, now I can make my own books
Very inspiring book that has helped me get started in book binding. I purchased this book because I wanted to start art journaling, but didn't like the papers that were available in premade books. After reading it I've made my first book which came out awesome. I also deeply appreciate the authors sense of style. I have a ton of "how to" art books and I NEVER copy anybody's projects exactly, but her projects were so beautiful that I plan on making some of the projects exactly as they are in the book simply because I love how they look. The stitching on the leather spine books is divine and I love how she reuses vintage books/boxes and found objects. My only criticism of this book is that the sewing instructions are not detailed enough to follow. I'm an experienced embroiderer and beader (ergo, I'm not a novice at hand sewing), but I couldn't tell how to sew the signatures together from this book. I cobbled together my own method and was very happy with it. I would not want this critique to deter anyone from purchasing this book - it's worth buying, but I would suggest you find another source to teach you how to sew the book together.

Variety and Simplicity Make "Bound" a Winning Collection of Book Designs.
Simple and creative, the designs in this book offer both novices and experience bookmakers the ability to try something new in the realm of binding and materials. Direct language, simple instructions, and a wealth of pictures make creating your own codex or folded pamphlet accessible to anyone interested in the art of bookcraft. I recommend this text in particular to those with established collections of paper, board, and other craft substrates who might be overwhelmed with traditional approaches to bookmaking but have an obvious appreciation for (and quick access to) the staple components.

I read the book immediately after receiving it. Which I might add that I received it very quickly after placing my order. The book has very helpful instructions and techniques. This will really aide me in my new hobby. Thanks

Thought this might be a good book to have on hand but...
There are very few actual pictures in this book. The author thinking only hand-drawn pictures should suffice didn't think things through. An actual picture would have been so much better to see what was actually being done. I should've stayed with all the bookmaking videos on YouTube. Save your money and go to YouTube. The author had a website where she sold her handmade books. It no longer exists. She also had an Etsy shop but again, hasn't sold anything there for some time. I would take those two realities as a heads-up and not waste your money on this book. Wish it would've been different...

Really lovely book
There are many creative book projects ranging medium to very skilled. I wouldn't really recommend this for a beginning bookmaker although one can figure it out with the detailed steps listed with each project.
