Using the untold story of Christian music legend Russ Taff, 'I Still Believe' reveals how the redeeming power of the gospel can change hearts, save lives and hold a marriage together through the unimaginable obstacles of abuse, anger, shame and alcoholism. Award-winning director Rick Altizer (Chonda Pierce--Laughing in the Dark and Enough) traces Russ' story from an abused child to Christian music's #1 male vocalist.

Amazing true story of God's grace and powerful deliverance
I went to see this movie and was so inspired by this movie. This story touched my life because I l had a similar past, but through this movie, God spoke to me and said this is your problem and I am going to set you free if you will let me. And set me free He did. After 71 years of depression and beating myself up and blaming myself, I am finally free. This is an amazing movie that needs to be seen by everybody. It's a story of true love. heartbreak, and deliverance, and God turning a horrible situation around and restoring this man's life and family. It's a must watch.

Very compelling story. Well presented.
This (Russ Taff - I still believe) is a well-presented story of an abused and emotionally broken man who, despite his confession of faith in Christ, turned to alcohol to ease his pain. It's a story of a faith that seemed to be put through an overwhelming test. It's a story of a family's pain resulting from his alcoholism and about the redeeming power of forgiveness and the grace of God. His wife held to her faith in her husband and faith in God, throughout all of it. This story personifies the cliche "Christians aren't perfect - just forgiven". It shows we are all just a "work-in-progress". I would not describe the DVD as "entertaining" but it's poignant and compelling and well worth the time to watch it.

Amazing story from addiction to the power of God's Love
Amazing story of God's grace...mercy...and love. I have always loved Russ' music. This story of addiction and healing and the unending love of his wife Tori will bless you and offer hope to those needing healing as well. DO not pass up this story of God's healing power and the honesty of the Taffs to be brave to tell their story!

Hope for being human!
This movie is absolutely wonderful! It is so desperately difficult for someone to be this transparent about the worst times of their lives. Thank you, Russ, for giving hope to others through sharing and thank you, Tori, for giving the story through the eyes of the spouse!

Searching for solace
Russ's story is the story of millions--searching for solace at home, at church and finding only more shame, more guilt, more anxiety and depression. I promoted Russ's "Medals" album for the record co. I worked for part-time while teaching music at a Christian school. I loved his voice from the beginning. I also know the milieu of his home life and his church life. I lived it too. I still believe in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. However, like all human endeavors, the church is corrupt. In the late 70's and early 80's, the Holy Spirit moved mightily (as we say in Pentecostal speak). And if you experienced it--you are forever changed; regardless if you still go to a church today or not. God is "OUR" father and Jesus is "OUR" savior. The music of the time in evangelical circles, and throughout the charismatic movement was phenomenal. Russ is a part of the period. Though many had smiles on their faces they also had insurmountable pain in their hearts. Sadly, the joy and excitement of the church service, bible study and concert do not last and the pain of unresolved emotional issues do not go away. This is where the movement and the churches failed so many. Certain churches through their doctrine, teaching, social rules, etc., are both overt and subtle in the relentless pursuit of PERFECTION (i.e., holiness)--a standard no one can attain--"All have sinned, there is none righteous." All humans are corrupt--it's not our fault. But if you are being abused at home, and you go to church are told you will NEVER please GOD unless you DO this and that and stop doing this or that--it is yet another burden, not a blessing, to endure. Where do you go for solace and comfort? Particularly, if you have an hereditary risk factor for an addictive behavior. Russ's voice still shines and I am glad he has been getting the help he needs. He still blesses me.

Well done!
I like looking back to the early Christian artists and how they ended up. Russ Taff doesn't try to hide any of his weaknesses.

Very well worth it!!!
I have always enjoyed Russ Taff as an artist and as a performer. But I was most impressed with his vulnerability to share his life and struggles here, not for his own sake, but for the sake of helping and encouraging others. Just an excellent presentation.
