Highly Recommended!
The Dymo LabelManager 280 is an outstanding machine. The construction is solid with no flimsy parts that may break with normal use. The screen is large, clear, and easy to read. The buttons around the screen have a nice click to them, and the buttons on the main body are rubber and feel solid. The unit feels good in the hands, and even those with smaller hands should have no trouble typing. The cutter is excellent, the best I've seen on any Dymo. It cuts cleanly and doesn't wast a lot of tape on each end. One or two read-throughs of the manual were all it took to learn the machine. It is well-written and will answer any questions. I found the menus easy to understand and navigate. It is rechargeable and comes with a charging cord. I gave it a full charge when I bought it in August, and here it is December and I've not had to recharge it since. I haven't had a chance to link it to a laptop to use the software, because it does everything I need it to do the way it is. Overall this was an excellent buy and I would recommend it for anyone looking for an inexpensive, well-built label maker that will provide years of use. ***I purchased this item myself and I am in no way affiliated with Dymo or Amazon. This is my honest opinion and no one has asked me to write this review.***

Amazing Label Maker
I borrowed a Dymo label maker from my work to label some things around my garage / work bench. I immediately experienced the value of putting my name on my belongings. I was so pleased with the label maker I borrowed that I attempted to purchase it on Amazon. I quickly discovered that the model I had used was discontinued but saw good things about this model. I received this label maker and was surprised at the size and weight but not in a disappointing way. It really felt like quality. I skimmed through the instructions before tossing them to the side, inserting the batteries and typing my first label. It was extremely easy and I was able to pick up where I had left off with the previous label maker. If you are looking for an extremely small or pocket-sized label maker then you might want to look elsewhere. This label manager is really meant more for desktop application but is certainly small enough to carry around and doesn't require a wire once the batteries are in. All of the features are clearly accessible from the main keypad and there are only a few "hotkeys" taking you to sub-menu's but it seems to be well thought out. I haven't used the USB computer tethering to print as I don't have a need for that but it's great to know that it's there when I do. The carrying case is perfect. It holds the label maker, cords, extra spools of tape and has plenty of room for extra's. I would definitely recommend this label maker for anyone that wishes to have all of the possibilities at their fingertips while still having a unit they can carry around or leave on their desk for quick access.

User friendly
Easy setup, very user friendly. So far have used for labeling our storage totes-tape sticks well to the plastic totes. Font sizes could be bigger but that’s just personal preference. Have not had any issues yet with printing or cutting

LM280: Cheap and it works
I purchased this DYMO LabelManager 280 Rechargeable after a previous (non-rechargeable) version died. I chose to take a chance on an Amazon Warehouse 'like new' deal, and it was a good decision. The item arrived in the expected condition with the labeler, rechargeable battery pack, charger, a tape new in the package, and a cable to connect the labeler to a PC. Directions were also included for setup and use. After unwrapping and placing the rechargeable battery into the back of the labeler, I charged it with the included AC adapter for 3 hours per the instructions. I unplugged the charger and inserted the tape (what the device prints on) into the back of the labeler. I depressed the round, red power button on the lower lefthand side of the LCD screen, confirmed the tape size and then began typing on the Qwerty keyboard what I wanted on a label. I like how the keys are rubberized and yet soft to the touch. I heard a slight click when the key press was engaged and it was clearly visible on the gray and black LCD screen. Pressing the blue print button to the lower right of the screen printed the label and depressing the large silver button on the righthand side of the labeler cut it off the tape. Navigation on the labeler is very intuitive and easy to learn. The keyboard buttons depress with a click, but all others are flush and have more of a touchscreen feel. The reason I dropped 1 star from my review is that unlike the photos on Amazon that indicate the LCD has a light gray background making the text easy to see, the one I received has a fairly dark screen like the older model it is replacing. The LCD can be difficult to see as it's not backlit. You can't use it in a poorly lit space or at night without the assistance of an external light source, but in the daytime or indoors with adequate lighting conditions - it's fine. For me this was a great bargain, and perfect for light or occasional use without the need for lots of special characters. Connecting to your PC is an option and I love the rechargeable capabilities too. (NOTE: Do not use this labeler with the charger attached - per the instructions.)

Just buy! Don't let the reviews freak you out!
I ordered the dymo LM 280 with one roll of black on white tape. The product description and reviews said no ac adapter came with the unit, but mine came with an ac adapter. So, now I have to return the extra ac adapter I ordered. Anyways, this label maker doesn't even take batteries, so I'm thinking they have to give everyone an ac adapter. Everyone who is saying they needed 6 AAA batteries is full of it because it literally doesn't take batteries. The unit is extremely light weight to where it almost feels like a pretend toy label maker for a child. The unit is nice. You can literally hook it up to your laptop and print with any font, insert any image, etc. Its a quality device, and it definitely does much cooler stuff than any other label maker I've used. BUT... I don't want to say it, but I actually hate the way it looks lol The amazon photo looked like it would look similar to a Blackberry, but it looks like a gigantic fake scanning device from star trek. Also, I read a TON of reviews complaining about the amount of tape being wasted. I've used many label makers, and I have no idea what people are talking about. This label maker puts the same amount of space that every other label maker does. I'm actually wondering if people are reviewing an older model of the 280 (i don't even know if that exists) because I'm finding the tape/battery claims to be completely false. Plus, I literally ordered two rolls of black on white tape for $6 and you can get a better deal if you buy your tape in bulk. Seriously, if you want an awesome label maker and own a computer, this one is $26 and will literally print your face if you upload a picture of your face, it will just be a very tiny image of your face and in black and white lol But, don't buy this if you don't have a computer. The device on its own has less features than you could get with a $10 label maker, so you literally need a computer to access the awesome features. Also, your going to want only the 1/2" tape from now own, no matter what. I've always been a 3/8" girl, but since I can print so many cool fonts now, I need the wider tape to see my designs better. I actually got really bored the first time I used this because you have so many options! I usually like to waste my time making just the perfect label, but it literally took FOREVER to go through every one of my fonts, then add in pictures! I literally got bored and just picked whatever. Don't let everyone's stupid reviews freak you out. I honestly was so concerned about buying this or some other label maker on Amazon. But, then finally I realized you have to buy Dymo. You can't not buy a Dymo. And I'm really surprised I could get a label maker this cool for only $26! Even if it looks like a $4 star trek kids toy.

Highly Satisfied
I have always struggled with keeping my room organized. Sure I may have some generalized organization of where things are located. Office supplies in the desk drawer, but I've been continually finding the general upkeep of my room a challenge. Even though I might make a mental note of where things belonged it was hard to remember. It was also easy for items that didn't belong in a drawer or shelf to make their way in/on there. Upon getting the label maker, I started to make my treck upon taking the jungle that was my bedroom. I know have every drawer and space labeled in my room. The results is that I have more peace than I ever have before. I have been really impressed by this labelmaker. It is a simple interface but I personally enjoy that. Sometimes too many options paralyzes me in indecision. The thing that I like with labels themselves is that the adhesive is good regardless of the surface it is being applied to. It is also easy to pull off if you decide you want to change a label. For any trying to decide on a labelmaker, give this one a try. It was my first and I do not regret the decision I made.

Great Purchase at an Unbeatable Price
This label maker is everything! So easy to use and has lots of text options. I needed to label all the items in my makeup kit and this came in handy! You can print teeny-tiny text labels or really large ones which makes it versatile. The shape is also great for speedy handheld since it’s similar to a phone keypad. Battery life seems really long. I’ve had it for a few months now and still going strong. Tape refills for the brand also seem reasonably priced so I don’t have to worry about breaking the bank next time I need to refill.

Fast and easy to carry for light use
I like that it is easy to carry and use, and can print directly from the computer (even from Word and Excel) battery life is good I dislike that Arabic printing can be done from Word and Excel only and need to adjust margins I am using for home and for some hobbies.

competitive price, exact time delivery smooth transaction.
The 280 replaces an earlier Dymo machine and the tags used for electronic labelling are clearer and neater than the earlier style.

Quite handy. Pretty fun too. Can use with one hand.
It works well. No jams so far. The screen is not backlit but that’s fine. It uses internal rechargeable batteries. The font size goes from 8 to 24. It can print multi-line labels. The manual cutter is sharp. The QWERTY buttons need force to push and the rubber around each key wobbles. Just a minor thing. I wish the keys were pleasing to press like a BlackBerry. The USB connector is ancient, so do not lose the included cable (if you use PC software). The USB connector does not charge the battery. I keep making that mistake. It can only be recharged with the 12v cable. You will lose half an inch on each side of the label to white space. Just cut it with scissors and buy more label spools. There is only “caps lock”, no “shift”, so if the first letter you want uppercase, press the “a -> A” key, then the letter, then that case key again, then the rest of the letters. It can be a tad annoying but I got used to it. I’m not a power labeler, so the default font is fine. Size 20pt is good. 24pt is a bit obnoxious for labeling parts. NOTE: You get the 45013S (10ft) cartridge. You will soon need a refill. Refill carts are 45013 (23ft). I think S means “shorter”. Overall, I’m very happy with this label maker and I use it all the time.
