Best bang for your buck
I’m very happy with this purchase! Wish that it came with a ebook version too but oh well! It might be a tad confusing at first for those who don’t know any German off hand. I highly recommended because it goes into such depth detail about sentence structure, telecommunication, finding your way around, ordering food/shopping, etc. I found it very helpful. I needed something to help me freshen up since my speaking skills have become a tad rusty having moved some years back and the lack of German speakers in my area. It has helped me a lot! I plan to purchase the French one next to help me on my studies.

Comprehensive travel vocabulary
Hearing the dialogues in addition to the written text is an excellent way to learn the language. The book also gives pronunciation assistance, cultural tips, and additional vocabulary not used in the exercises. I'm enjoying learning the language and feel confident in my new vocabulary. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that there is about 10 seconds of traditional music at the start of each 2 to 3 minute lessons. It gets very old having to listen to the same oom pah pah music every few minutes instead of focusing on the lesson.

Fascinating Read
I won't be learning conversational German from this book, but it's been an interesting look at Germany. The phonetic translation was amazing but was it really what German sounds like. The plethora of pronouns and words changing to agree with the pronoun is daunting. A live class would be useful.

Nice
I've not read it yet but it's larger than expected (which is a good thing). It also came with the CD as promised.
