Mellow 12" Metal Platform Bed Frame w/Heavy Duty Steel Slat Foundation, Black

Honestly i built alot of legos when i was little and now i work on cars and trucks so i didnt even use the directions lol.So to really start, this is like my second ever amazon review and its worth it. Alot of people ask if you need a box spring and you dont but theres zero harm in putting one down. I ordered this in January of 2021 and i thought pretty much after almost a year its safe to say its going to last me my whole life until a move out of my parents house and get an alaskan king bed. So far ( and i dont expect things to change) it really doesn't squeak. Following that statement heres some advice. Metal can bend easy if your not careful, and i mean if you put a rug under the bed, make sure the whole bed is on the rug or the whole bed is on a LEVELED surface. Back to the review, it doesn't squeak at all even during super fun activities wink wink nudge nudge. Its super sturdy and beats any wooden bed frame out there, the wood frames with wood slats have no good middle support and theyre cheap and flimsy. As long as your tighten down the bolts thoroughly theres no reason why you should have any issues. To top it off, its SUPER lightweight. Im a clean freak, the adhd kid in a meme who flips his room inside out and rearranges the layout of the entire room so its mice to have a bed frame i can really tug hard on and move it easily when i need too. After a year of my mattress thats a bobopedic memory foam super squishy, but firm at the same time, my matress has not sunk, it has not moved, and it has not changed at all and ive had my bed for 5 years and now, 1 year with the new bed frame. So i love this and if i ever get a gigantic king size bed then im going to get a nice metal frame for it. And idk about yall, but i like not having a head board. Hope this helps anyone who wants to buy it. And btw i got the queen size frame! Have a good one.

I wanted to address some of the reviews that complained of squeaking: I had this problem too, but I figured out that it wasn't the bed frame at all, it was the mattress. If you have a mattress with coiled springs, be aware that this kind of metal bed frame (with its significant distance between slats) can cause coils to start to squeak. I solved this problem by moving the edge of the mattress a little over the side of the frame. My only real complaint is that the upper strip (the sticky strip below it is supposed to keep the mattress from moving around) pulls off the sticky strip, so that feature is useless. Luckily I don't need it as my mattress doesn't slide around. It's not a complaint, but more a thing of interest: This bed varies pretty wildly in price. I have seen it for as low as $140 and as high as $249. I paid $170, and consider that price very worth it, though I wish I had gotten it when it was $140 (that was in November and December of 2022), but I wasn't ready to deal with a new bed frame at that time, so I consider that $30 difference a convenience fee.

Easy to assemble once you get an understanding of the pieces! A beautiful frame. Measurements provided in the description allowed me to find the right size tubs to slide underneath the frame and still offer some room. It’s very simple, and takes up a lot less room than typical platform beds. My partner and I got in together in less than an hour and a half. Very sturdy and had adhesive strips on the metal bars to keep the mattress on! Worked great for my Nectar mattress. I am not using any extra support to keep the mattress from falling through, as we have yet to have any issues with it.Building: Don’t get frustrated! Some pieces may seem they won’t fit, but just try all you can. I recommend putting both of the corner pieces on the foot of the bed, then the head of the bed. Putting one on the foot and one on the head messed up the other side!

First day review: I got the frame today on time. The box was pretty massive but free shipping so who cares? The frame is high quality and very sturdy. I put it together in 42 minutes and that was going pretty slowly. I like the color and design a lot. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the pictures make it seems thicker than it really is. Although very sturdy the pieces are about the same thickness as a normal steel bed frame. The edge pierces are the thickest part and I think the bed that is pictured in the ad is a full. My Queen makes it looks smaller. That being said, still a four star frame. They even give you extra pieces and the middle steel slats come with a sticky tape to keep your bed in place. Overall a great buy and would recommend.

This bed is awesome for some quality human to human time in bed, it’s sturdy. It will slide on hard floor but I just put some rubber stickers that keep furniture from not moving and works perfect. It’s low to the ground, but had enough clearance under it to at least get some stuff under the bed, if you get the taller one. It is kinda easy to out together, just looks like a lot of stuff out of the box. There’s sticky things to stick to your mattress but I haven’t peeled those off yet and feel like I won’t need to. But highly recommend for a sturdy bed with no need for a box spring.

Last year, we gave away an extremely sturdy bed frame to someone who needed it after an injury, and finally the spare we had been using (not sturdy, made of press-board) broke. We wanted something approaching the rock-solid frame I'd had before to replace it (250lb+ guests had no problem or creaking), but decided to go for something with storage space. After extensive review-shopping, we went for this frame in the black, 12" version. Purely aesthetically, I preferred the look of the lower profile bed I had, but storage was more important here.Average assembly time-- had to look twice at the directions and backtrack, make sure you double-check! Overall, worth it, and this one is so far doing just as well (partner and I together are 310lbs), plus has room to store flat totes and small boxes. No creaking ever so far, and it's seen good, regular use for about 6 months. Imagine that this will last until it changes houses/hands in the future.
