Coronation Street - Best of 1970-1979 - [ITV] - [Network] - [DVD]

This is the peak years of Coronation Street. Superb stories, characters and actors. Worth it for Stan, Hilda and Eddie alone, but there's much more besides (like the great Doris Speed as Annie Walker). A far cry from the sensationalist and violent garbage that now passes itself off as Corrie today.

Bought this set for my mum which made her very happy.However I did notice that the episodes have been transferred to disc 'as is' with no effort to enhance or even carry out a basic clean up of the video. After seeing the superb restoration of the original Dr Who series recently released on DVD I found the quality disappointing so it only gets 4 stars but it didn't bother my mum and she loved every episode.Delivery was very quick.All said I'm happy with this purchase.

I bought all sets, ( 60/70/80's ) for my Mums 80th, She was made up !!! Arrived 4 days earlier than eta.

Love it but unfortunately they don’t follow on so you never know what happened next! Such a wonderful stroll down memory lane nevertheless!

There cannot be many people in the UK that hav'nt at onetime watched Coronation street. I gave up on it about 15 years ago(year 2000). But this set contains many gems from the old cast prior to the series becoming more like Eastenders.
