Hi! The KeySmart can accommodate standard sized flat keys from 2" to 3 1/8" long. Keep in mind that thicker keys will take up more than one spot in your KeySmart. You can use the included spacers to ensure a even and flushed fit.

Does the black scratch off easily

No, not easy at all. It is a part of my every day carry for some time now and only a few scratches here and there go through the black.
