Great Fashion Designs of the Fifties Paper Dolls: 30 Haute Couture Costumes by Dior, Balenciaga and Others (Dover Paper Dolls)

I have been collecting these paper doll books for years and have a few old ones. They are larger in size than this one, so the dolls and clothing are also larger. I wish they would've kept the same larger size instead of downsizing.

I purchased this for a school fundraiser where the theme was the 50s. Unfortunately, the paper dolls are wearing a little risque lingerie and I could not donate it. It is not at all indecent, it is just that one of the dolls has on stockings with garters and the age group of the children is very young. The costumes are gorgeous.One thing I would also like to note is that these would have to be cut out with scissors very carefully. These are not able to be punched out like most paper dolls.I think this is more an art book than a functional paper dolls book.

Made a fantastic late Christmas gift for my mother, as the last three (?!) I purchased were all canceled. The illustrations are simply beautiful, and this is a great gift for anyone into vintage fashion or old Hollywood.

My granddaughter and I took a trip to see a friend who still had her paper dolls from years ago. My granddaughter loved them and asked if paper dolls were still being made. So I did a little check on Amazon and fulfilled her wish. The only thing that surprised me was that I still had to cut out all those costumes. by now I would have thought they would have been perforated.

These are wonderful paper dolls. Ordered them for five-year-old granddaughter, but she will definitely need help cutting them out, if she chooses to cut them. They are so beautiful, it seems shame to cut them! Would recommend them to anyone looking for historical fashion paper dolls. If you're looking for paper dolls for kids to cut out and play with, one probably should choose other options.

Was the perfect Christmas gift for an relative with moderate dementia. She remembers her former interest in paper dolls. One she had into adulthood. And she was very delighted with these.

I buy these for my daughter in law. She collects them. They are nice quality. You really could play with them if you weren't a collector.

The paper binding gave me some issues, but overall the quality was great when I need to to cut items out.

Fun fashion for the fifties but it would have been nicer to have them all as viewed from the front and not sideways.

not what ! was expecting cut out dolls and paper dresses

This is a gift for a friend but it looks great to me.

I love Tom Tierney's paperdoll books, I own several and I'm extremely happy with each book in my collection. The 1950's collection has two exquisite and lovely dolls and numerous costumes for each doll. The design of each fashion is beautiful and a true representative of the style of that period and an homage to the couture designers who created the original fashions. Each plate has a detailed summery of the couture fashion designer and the fashion itself and the book covers about ten years of 50's fashion and many designers from that period. The pages of this book are not perforated, if you wish to dress up the dolls or have purchased this for a child it will be necessary to cut all outfits and dolls out with fine point scissors. This book and others like it are in my opinion fashion books to be used as tools and guides to couture fashion and designers of the area and are not intended for children.
