The Collector's Guide to Herkimer Diamonds (Schiffer Earth Science Monographs)

I would love to shake the hand of this author and thank him for writing such a comprehensive book with helpful (and beautiful) pictures! There is a lot of information both on the geology of Herkimer Diamonds and the collection of these beautiful crystals. Even if you never get a chance to actually mine for these, I recommend this book. If you are interested in "Herkimers" I highly recommend this book.

This book covers more than I expected..Not just photos of Herkimers, but how to get to them.I am beyond hard rock mining, but I can sure do some arm chair busting!

This book has much useful information regarding Herkimer diamonds, their genesis, geology, localities, history, with good photographs. THere is also excellent information not easily found relating to mineral collecting, mineral care and mineral cleaning.that apply equally well to other minerals..
