Book of Old-Time Trades and Tools (Dover Pictorial Archives)

This book not only described tools, but tells you how they were used in an actually job. It use to be a instruction manual for boys who were exploring a trade. So it is very informative and well written.

This book has been really helpful as I research work and trades from many years ago. I have also shared it with others.

This book does a good job of explaining the tools and trades and how the tradesmen used them in different ways.

Very interesting and informative about tools and trades in the 19th century. Great history book for anyone who wants to know about the trades in Victorian England. Great insight into how people lived.

Excellent read and full of interesting information. We are probably heading back down this road again. Wouldn't hurt to know how things were done.

The book contains a lot of very interesting facts about the use of old tools.I strongly recommend it to old tools collectors.The only drawback :it needs more clear pictures rather than poor drawings...

Written at a time when these trades were being replaced by modern machinery. The author witnessed hand crafting skills that were hundreds of years old. Valuable research information.

Could do with some photos rather than all crude line drawings. Some agricultural items miss described
