I absolutely love this little mic!!!
I purchased this tiny mic to use with my Philips DVT1000 Digital Recorder . Since they are both made by Philips, I assumed that they would be compatible, and my assumption proved correct. Using the two together, I am able to do convenient, hands-free recording, which was my goal. The sound quality with this tiny mic is terrific, just as good as using the digital recorder's own built-in mic.I purchased both of these devices to use with my Dragon NaturallySpeaking Premium 12 software. I knew the DVT1000 was compatible because the makers of Dragon put it at the top of their list of compatible devices on their website, but I was a little nervous about this mic. Fortunately, but all my concerns were laid to rest the first time I used it to make a recording and transcribed it with Dragon. The accuracy was identical to that of the DVT1000 using its internal mic.I am 100% delighted with this purchase.

Perfect mic for portable recording
This little microphone does a good job of being inconspicuous while delivering a clear voice recording. When I received it, the mic clip was on "backwards," with the wire on the outside, in front of the clip, which makes the wire more obvious to the audience. So I carefully pried the clip off of the wire (be careful, the wire channel is so tight you could damage the wire), flipped it over, and reattached it to the mic wire. Now it's even more unobtrusive.I have another mic that uses batteries, but checking the batteries before each recording session is a pain, so this unpowered mic is a fantastic convenience! The cable length is perfect for slipping the recorder into your pants' pocket. If you have a stereo recorder, just remember to set it to Mono. If you leave the recorder on Stereo, you will only get sound on one side (the Left channel).

Good Durability
I'm going to give this tiny microphone good points for durability. I got it to use with a mini-recorder. I keep the mic plugged in, with the cord wrapped around the recorder, in my purse. I fully expected the foam windscreen covering on the mic would be lost or torn almost at once, but it is staying on very well, and in good shape, despite the somewhat rough treatment. Likewise the clip and wiring is very good though it's taking some battering being unprotected in my purse.Very decent omni sound quality. Using it in my vehicle, it's picking up the truck noise, but my voice--with the mic clipped at chest level--is perfectly clear. It's very much a step up from using the digital memo recorder's internal mic.The cord is more than long enough for me to put my recorder in my truck's cupholder and clip the mic at chest/neck level. As someone else mentioned--and it's this way with my recorder, too, so probably a mic-specific issue, rather than recorder-specific--recorder needs to be in mono or you'll only get one channel.

Cable is Frail so be Gentle
I made this purchase for two reasons: First, was the claim that the product is made of durable materials to last longer. Second, the reviews giving an endorsement to quality of sound. What more could I want?I admit the mono sound recording is great, and delivery was fast. But the topic of durability is open to debate and opinion. Let me just point out that a great microphone is no better than the reliability of the cable. This microphone cable is probably the thinnest I have ever seen on a microphone. It is so thin, I believe it's just a matter of time before I accidently tug it, crimp it, and break the wire within the almost sheer plastic skin.I wish this same microphone had a cable to instill confidence.

Works well for my purposes!
I travel a lot for Christian ministry. I end up in places sometimes where they are unable to record the teachings. Well, I like to go back and critique myself as time permits. This mic works well in helping me do that. I generally hook it to a high quality digital recorder and pin it on my blouse or jacket. What makes this one a little unique, at least for me, is that the cord is a little bit longer and allows some creative maneuvering. I haven't had any major problems with noise or even poor sound quality. I would indeed recommend this mic, and purchase future one's made by this Philips.

Don't go by my review
I ordered three or four of these. I use them outdoors (which is not how they are supposed to be used!). One died after a month. One is still going strong 8 months later and one is retired. The sound quality is pretty good for the price, but the sensitivity could be better. They are probably a pretty good value for the intended use. I am deliberately abusing them so don't go by my review.

Very good quality microphone, somewhat flimsy cable
This microphone works very well with my Philips DVT5000 digital audio recorder. It works well clipped to my jacket or shirt collar. The insulation on the cable, however, is somewhat frail and easily nicked. This exposes actual braided copper metal wire. That said I fully recommend it and would buy it again if needed.

Easy to clip on, and it stays on
This mic easily clips on and stays put. The cord is also long enough to tuck the device into a pocket while it’s clipped on. While the accuracy isn’t as great as my stationary mic, it was a lot better than I expected - then again, I use it to dictate while driving. I do not regret this purchase and will buy another one if this one breaks.

Three Stars
It's fine and works beautifully. The cable is very much on the short side though.
