Bernese Mountain Dog Training: Dog Training for your Bernese Mountain puppy

I enjoyed the fast-pace, quick read and to-the-point tips offered by Ms. Kaiser. Having a training book specifically for my breed of dog was very insightful. I appreciated the basic commands with clear step by step instructions, and expert extra tips and secrets. The concise logic behind the training methods was useful in understanding why the methods should be done the way they were explained.

Loved the simple direction, and the way the steps were displayed in the read. After each section, there is an easy review of each command, and training process. Great for the new puppy owner, preparing to train a young pup. This book is very specific to the breeds temperament and manner.

I recommend this book to everyone that owns a Berner or is just thinking about getting one! Very informative in a short easy to read book.So many tips how one can train up his dogs and this tips are very effective.

This is our 1st Bernese, but I did not get anything from this book and training techniques. We have a 10 week old puppy and she won’t walk on a leash, she plants her buns and won’t move. The book only discusses puppies who pull or try to lead. I’ve trained 3 Golden’s over the years who all were well mannered, trained great dogs, but never used any of the strict methods used in this book other than to get them used to walking on one side of you. Think for a young puppy you don’t have to instill such stick training rules.

Very clear concise information. Easy read for all ages. Extremely helpful in getting started with my BMD pup. Highly recommend.

I didn't like anything about the book. Small size, large double spaced print to fill the pages. Didn't find the information I read it particularly useful. I suggest spending the money on a different Berner book, or just use the internet and get better information from a Facebook Group.

It's just a generic dog training book, which has been poorly translated, and the dog breed cut and pasted into each version, personally I thought it was s complete waste of money

I have not owned a puppy for a few years and whilst I have a lot of experience of dog training I found this book aurhorative and an excellent refresher course on sound basic principles of puppy training. Can’t wait to read the next one.

Not really Bernese specific ... beside the title, if you look for other breeds for the same author in the look inside you will see that it is exactly the same content ... or almost except the historic on the breed. The training is a mixed of positive re-enforcement and negative re-enforcement (dominance). Not that great. I prefer very much: Training the best dog ever.

Good book for new Bernese owners. Relevant and direct information about your puppy. Only issue I had was the language; it’s been directly translated from German so some terms and sentences are hard to understand.

Good basic puppy training. Some Bernese content but could be applied to most breeds.
