Masterpiece: Downton Abbey Seasons 1, 2, 3, & 4 [Blu-ray]

Very enjoyable

Love this series.... so glad I now have the complete set. I did transfer the discs from their original display to cd covers.....I was afraid that taking them out (tight fit) would damage the disc or break it. There are several episodes on each disc so can watch several episodes back to back. Could do without the Masterpiece Classic intro every time but a minor inconvenience. BONUS gifts were nice and many pictures of actors

This review is not about the show. It's a given you love it or believe you will by shopping various versions of the show. First, no matter what box set you choose, if you own Blu-ray, then you must buy a BR set. The scenes and quality to detail are absolutely stunning in and outside Downton. This set pictured was originally released in 2014. At the time of this writing the set is now 8 years old. Using 'multi-format' will get you the pictured BR set in R1. It runs about $ 8-20 at this time from many vendors. I am generally not a fan of marketplace vendors but Blu-ray have yet to be successfully copied for high volume sales for a 'cheap' cost (ie: no knockoffs here). It is a pain to only get Seasons 1-4 and still need Seasons 5 and 6. They can be found very reasonable as well in good/very good condition. Excellent base set to see if this show is for you or to own for your collection. Better to toss a few bucks away than $ 80-120 for the full, prettier box sets. As you see, the set has two boxes that house the discs. Mine came in excellent condition. The boxes are the flip-style pages for 5 and 6 discs as opposed to the stack style many use now including Acorn. This show is notably one of the ones most highly shopped for trying to find 'the right one'. I did this and drove myself crazy. They are all the same. BBC/PBS version are the same. BBC simply means they had ads when it aired initially since their shows are aired over public TV. Good luck! No matter where you buy or from who, this is one of the BEST series ever made. You must be patient, learn the characters, a unique setting and be open to how life was across the pond early 20th century (3-4 episodes). It's well worth it!

I love Downton Abbey. I wish it would become a regular series.

The delivery time was spot on, the product. Was everything a expected and more. I would most definitely purchase it again if I needed called for.

To be clear, this is being written for the product number B01JNXXCM2, released October 2016.Of the hundreds of blurays I have purchased over the years, none took more research than this one.Of the hundreds of blurays I have purchased over the years in no case was the anxiety over the purchase as badas this one.Consider the purchase of any "complete series". Unless you are prepared to sit down and watch all the episodes, it willbe weeks/months before you find if you have purchased a defective product.In this case, much has been written about which version is the best and whether scenes were deleted.In a variety of posts, it is stated that the UK version has scenes deleted because commercials had to be inserted.To research the problem I called PBS itself, they assured me ,as I am assuring you that this UK version of the seriesis intact. This is based on the viewing of the first two seasons ( from which deleted scenes were mentioned)The quality of the product is fantastic.Hope this helps someone else

Came as promised. Package in good 'condition when received.

Loved watching the complete seriesBut the package with season 1 and 2 cds was received brokenI really do want the seller to send the original cd case for these. I have spent 20 thousand on this and I expected it in good condition.

season two episodes 4 to 7 ,all other episodes from 5 to 7 will not play on my machine which is a multi region player.most anoyiny as the rest of the episodes are brilliant,under australian consumer laws i am entitled to a refund ,repair or replacement.i would like a replacement disc for season two episode 4-7.am intending to purchase more series from you so hopefully you can replac my faulty disc.awaiting your reply. please would somebody please reply to my complaint
